BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS
IN PUBLIC LIBRARY
Attractiveness, of the interior of ,the
local public library was increased for two
or three days last week by the presence
of several stalks of gladiolius of unusual
size and color. The garden from -which
they came must be a beauty if they were
average stalks.

at a 1.4beral meeting Wingbanl, told
his audience .that Mr, Pear:limen was so
interested m this riding that he quit a

was ,seen as, a great joke by Mr. Willis,
who stated that Mr. Deachman had left
this. riding 47 years ago.
a con lection with .his own poiitieal
life the speaker informed those present
that, over fprty years ago her had become
disgusted with certain principles of the
two old parties and this is the .first time
since then'thathe has been drawn into
thepolitical struggle.
In closing Mr. Willis' stated that he
eloped to hate Mr. Stevens here to speak
to the people of this riding some dory in
the near future.
From time to time during Mr. Willis'
address comments concerning objection-
able statements were made by attendants,
who were 'firmly established with either
of the old parties. One of these state-
ments, "The Stevens candidate hasn't
got a chalice," was taken up by Mr. t.
`O. Durnin, successful farmer of Ashfleld
Township, who introduced himself as a
University graduate and a -student of
political economy. Mr. Durnin replied
that Ashfield and-Howick Townships had
been camrassed and were decidedly . in
favor of a Stevens candidate for North
Huron, . Other townships throughout
Huron are the same way, declared Mr.
'Durnin. lie-. was :of the- opinibn that- if

favor of lowering the taxes and is out for
the-`nntsses-•of-the-•peopie- It was -a Ste-
vens' belief than every man has a right
to a living without having to be offered
relief, said Mr. Durnin.

the total value being $545.; the Flor-

a value of $125..• and four years' tui-

her mirid and decided to attend Tor-

late for her to enter the scholarship
