Tara Leader:.Wm. • Couglin was
sawing wood one day recently on the

exploded, blowing out all the lights and
blowing off one door, but luckily no one
was hurt, although Mr. :Magni' got his

Those who use their eyes' at close work
all day should give them some rest dur-
ing the evenings and not deyote all their
time to reading. When you dq read,,see
that you have sufficient light which
neither shines into the eyes nor reflects
the glaze of the paper. Its does not
matter which shoulder the light Iconies

There Is nothing itarinfld to the eyes'
about reading in bed, ptovided the light
.is good and the person- is so propped up

position.
When reading or usingthe eyes stead-
ily at work, it is advisable, from time to
. i
time, to look up and out of the window
or at some distant point, as„this relieves
the eyes from focusing continually on
something that is close at hand. Read-
ing on trains or tram -cars is apt to tire
the eyes because the .light may be --dim,
and biere may he difflCulty in focusing
on 'account of the motion.
Never poke at your eyes. If there is
any foreign body in the eye, skilled
hands ere required to remove it or else
serious harm may be done. Do not put
anything. into the *eyes, unless this has
been prescribed .by someone who knows
why the eyes require tratment and the
kind of treatment to be usedfor that
particular condition.
