While it has been cold enough this
winter, the prevailing winds have been
off ,shore which accounts, in the
of Mac MacDonald, for the thin ice cov-
ering. 'Mao' dropped a short pieee of
net at the =With of the harbor on Mon-
day and was rewarded with eight • her-

fishing through holes, in the harbor ice
but have not caught anything but a few
suckers. Ice out by the breakwaters is
not safe enough to permit fishing there
so last winter's cluster' of swims shel-
ters is missing.
What boats there are in harbor are
well- faitened to the dock with steel
hawser& but nature has done an even
better job. They are frozen fast to the
wharf.
