a. temPerature oih August 27, 1948,
of :‘ 94, degrees --higher than. any
recorded Oring-our hot spells this
summer. The heat laSt year started
with a 'high temperature of 90 on
August .24th. .0n August- 25 it
went up to 91, the -next clay to 92
and on Augest 27th it hit .94. Then,
August 28 'it dropped' to .91 and
on-Arigust 29- te„-85, to mark the
end" of the -1.948 heat wave.
