Intosh in Wingham hospital. She was
fornierly-Mary-Bell-MacCharles, daugh-
ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. .John

took place from herlate residence ,on
Thursday to Greenhill IT ceinetery and

Death of James Maurice Bowler.—
The Many, friends df James Maurice
Bowler, were surprised to hear of his
death, ;which „occurred in Teronto en
Friday night. His last illness was of
short duration. 'He had been in fail-
ing healththe last few years, but was
takeitiil with pnettnionia, which term-
inated fatallyin . a few days. He
passed away peacefully in hospital
with Members of, ,his family around
him. Mr. Bowler .was born on the
10th •eoncession of Ashfield seventy-
five years ..ago,' a son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Maurice Bowler, pioneer set
tiers of Ashfield who, came here from
•Ireland in 1843. Ile.was the last sur-
viving member of a fani113, of five sons
and onddaughter. He lived his; entire
life in this neighlaorhood, Until two
years ago, When he gave over the
management of the farm to his son and
went to live in Toronto. Of a retiring
disposition, he 'never sought promin-
enee -or shoW. He was a fine type of
neighbor, well liked, by all. He had an
alihig sense of 'humor and his keen

Lconditions under which employers MUST
I REINSTATE their former employees in their
.„ emploiment after discharge. ,
This •Act and its Regtdations,,nre adminis-
tered _by • the Donihtion lylinister of „Itabour,'
through the National Employment Service.
Reinstatement Officers are available in the
• National Employment Offices to answet in
quirks, and assist in adjusting cases.

Employee's— eititer men or women—. are
to be reinstated if:
(a) they worked for their employer 3 monPa
. immediately ,prior to enlistment, and were
not •replacing another employee who has
since .been reinstated;

• (b) they. left' their employment to join the
Armed Services, the Merchant Marine; or
the Fire 'Fighters Corps; -
(e) they apply to their employer for reinstate-
ment, verbally or in writing, within 8
• ' months following discharge in Canada or
4 months if discharged Overseas. • .
Provision may be ntade for extension of Unto if the
eniployee's health prevents him or her from returning
within the specified three months. In this event, the
employer must be advised within the 3 or 4 montlui,
as the case, may be. •
