all -morning rain forced cancellation of
several scheduled events, hundreds pf
'district • residents braved ` a ,decidedly
chilly afternoon to make the Bayfield
Fair; heldyesterday, a suecess•'for all
who attended, •
In the. evening all adjaurn.ed'to the
Bayfield .Town Hall for a. tWo-hour
play and dance. The play, "Funny
Brats," was presented by the . Ripley
Dramatic Club. Refreshments were
served by the Bayfield• Community
Club.
. The Bannockburn Highlanders, ander'
direction of Watson Webster, Varna,
,proved especially popular. This was
the first time, Mr. Webster explained,,
'they "have played together in public.
They • appeared • for the afternoon in
the traditionalkilt and tartan. Three
pipers 'and two drummers formed the
band.
