Governor -General's medal, Princeton University and ` Princeton Theological Seminary after . teaching for a number of •years. ' For some time he serVed as ,a nnis- sihnairy in Ontario and the Vriited States. Forty-five yeaThrs-he was moderator of the Presbytery of De- troit, Later he was in . charge of schools for neglected children in the West,' serving in Oregon, Idaho, Ptah and Montana. His ministry also took him to the New England States, Penn- sylvania, Florida and Nova Scotia. In all', his *ministry • extended over a period of fifty-two years. Through Ms influence, two younger brothers entered the ministry, Angus and .Alexander, the latter of ''whom achieved a great distinction in 1926 when he was elected moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Canada.
