Manning of London are holidaying at Tobermory. Death' of Robert 11. Roberton.: A. native of this district, in the person of Robert H. Roberton, died at Hath burton on. Friday after a short ill- ' 'ness,. it is just anaozith since he was at, Auburn visiting friends and tela, tives. The deceased ,was born in Hui - tett eighty-four years ago. At an early age he took up residence at Galt, and worked at carpentry, and then forty-three years ago moved to West- ern Canada. Then twenty years were spent in Vancouver. A year ago he moved to Haliburton, where he made his home with his brother. He was an active member .of the Masonic Lodge. He was twice. married, his first wife being Tena Turnbull,, and his second Alexina Watson, , both of Galt. • Both predeceased .him. There was no family, but .surviving are two brothers and two sisters: James" Roberton, of Auburn; Andrew 'Robert- on, of Haliburton ; Mrs. roster Wright (Ida) , of Auburn, and Mrs. -Geo. Whit- ney (Martha) , of Winnipeg. The fun-. eral•service was held on Monday at the Harold Gray funeral home, Galt, and was conducted -by Rev. W. J. Walker, of Knox Presbyterian church. Pall- bearers were, members of Galt Masonic Lodge and interment was in Mount - view cemetery there. Mr. and Mrs. Jas.. --Roberton along • with Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Manning of Belgrave at- tended the funeral. That is why ration coupons will soon be used again by Canadians to buy meat. There is only one objective:—To reduce meat consumption in Canada in • order to provide direct aid for the hungry peoples of Europe. .. Slaughter -Control farmers v,acho slaughter meat for their own or their farmer neighbor's use are:required to sub- mit monthly reports (Form RB -41) and to sur- . render coupons for the meat they use and sell. Any excessof meat over. the farmer's or his • neighbor's nee may be sold only to the holder `- of a regular slaughter permit. -tl The minimum amount which a farmer may sell to such d' permit holder is one quarter of beef or half a hog carcass.
