Trooper Frank Dougherty, had ben

died of wouends on February 23rd..
Trooper Dougherty :vas a grandson of -
Mr. Wm. Hawkins and a nephew` of
Mrs. Agnes -'Foster, Frank ' Hawkins
and '' George - and Edgar Dougherty.
He visited relatives here , while in
training at Camp Borden, the only
time he ever i*isited friends in -Ontario.

by Mr; David Locirhart and Kenneth

Kenneth Scott Home, -Mrs. Robt.
J. Scott . was, Pleasantly 'surprised on
Thursday when her son, Pte. •Henneth
Scott, telephoned . her from London
stating he would be • in Gederich that
night. This was. the ;first the ,.gamily
knew that • he had -arrived •in,- Cana,*
froth' overseas. Ile' was *`'met in Gode-
rich by his , °parents and sisters and
other friends. Pte. Scott was one of
the' first to enlist from . here and he

was born in ;Goderich In 1874, the,

Mrs, Hugh runts. Strang, was educated,
in the Qoderich , schools,. and after a

in Toronto engaged in ,teaehI g.`: She
ta,nglit iii high schools► ut Grimsby,
Arnprior, and Ringsvillo,. °with shorter
�eertods in other .schools, and rannred

Retiring in 1934, she .spent two years
abroad, and Shortly after herreturn
was married to Mr. Bell. 'Wherever
'she lived she made lasting. friends.
Always an active church, worker; for

a member of% the. Presbyterian Church,.
and after her Marriage ofq the Anglican

A brief service was held on Thurs.-
day last 'at Torontp," Rev. F. II. Cos,
grave, provost of Trinity College, of-
ficiating, and. --on Friday afternoon she
was `laid to rest in "the• churchyard
of Christ church, Colchester South,
where a large gathering of , relatives
and= friends from Windsor, Harrow
and Kingsville paid tribute to the
esteem" and affection in"mwhieh she end,
her late husband were field. . ' Her
rector, Rev. J. H. Smith, made eloquent
reference : to her influence for good on
all with -whom she came in contact.
