Rev. L. IL 'Turner sang "Old Black

Uncle .Ned," and Floyd Lodge was in

Each number was greeted with en-
thusiastic applause, and a. hearty vote
of- thanks was tendefed to all who 'had
taken part in the program.. The meet-
ing closed with, the singing of 'the
National -Anthem.

Since he was seventeen years of age
he has been a member of the Loyal
Orange Lodge; and he IS a .paStmaster
of the local lodge.AS, staunch Liber-
als, both Mr. and Mrs. Sproul.. are.
menibers of the lodal Liberal Associa-
tion, of whieh, Mrs. Sproul is the•
second; vice-president. They are life-
long' Presbyterians. • •o
Mrs. Sproul is a native of Ashfteld
township. She, tee, has been an active
member of • the Orange Lodge and she
is • a -Aaast-inistress of . Queen 'Mary
_Lodge; L.O.B.A., a. member of the
Ladies' Aid Society • �f Knox Presby-
terian church, and 0. former nember

- The ;Warden's- eommittee of Huron
County COuncil ha S authorized a grant
of $15,375 to the Red Cross, Society,
provided for in the halt -mill set aside
for war purposes .at the January ses-
sion of the County Council. •
The grant is increased by $3,075 over
last year on account of tile Allied Re-
lief Funds (Greek, Russian, etc.)
being included in this year'S-canspaign.
-The :$15,375 is to be divided among
the nineteen branehes of the Society
in the coanty, $750, apiece; Luckuovv
and Clifford to receive $375, and Kirk;
fon and Woodham $187.50 each.
