Slavin testified that';on August, 30th(
1040, be, went ,to the Doaniuiee e'l ank,
Seaforth, and ,'borrowed' '$300, giving,

purchase the' cattle, which •were , to be
placed -On 'rented ipaeture. This was
done. In November he went to the
pasture held to lift the cattle. They
were not there. When- asked abou' .the`
disappearance 13e11 said he 'had sold
the cattle because he felt he had paid
too muclefor them and the market was
going bad. Ile had not the money,
having used it for other purposes,
but would repay it, or part of it, when
he solei his ;pigs. •,
In January, 1941, Slavin coutipued,
Bell sent seven head of cattle to his
(Slavin'.) farm, but did not come
`himself. The cattle were refused,' gee
cause they were 'Holsteins end jerseys.
,Under' cross-examination Slavin ad-
mitted that there were rnortgages on
his farm and on his,. eha°t.tels and that-
