The death tOok place of one of our
oldest and most highly respected repid-
ents on Saturday, July 27th, in the
person of Sarah Millson, at the age of
76 years and 1 month. Death was due
to the infirmities of old age. The fun-
eral took place on Tuesday, July 31st
at 10 o'clock a, m. from the residence
of 'her son, Jabez. Interment took
place at Zion cerneter-y. The relatives
have the sympathy of the community.

John Ratz, while working in the saw
mill on Tuesday afternoon last, met
with a painful and unfortunate acci-
dent, his hand coming in contact with
a circular saw in motion. The hand
was badly cut and torn and two fin-
gers were severed. While the injured
member win be saved be will never
have the same use of it. Dr. McLaugh-
lin of Dash wood was called and dressed
the wound, 'which required many
stitches.

given by members of the Alliance and

work; Bernard Brown, the Vice -Pres.,

'Holtzman read an excellent paper on
the people of China; a beautiful duet,
"Nearer my God to Thee" was sung
by Rev. and Mrs. Bean, after which
Miss Mary E. Braun, who is leaving
this week for the province of Ilanon,
China, where she will labor as a mis-
sionary, gave a short farewell address.
We all wish Miss Braun every SneceSS

continue the work she has undertaken.

and was ordained into the Episcopal-
ian ministry in. the Huron Diocese.
Of late years he Ints been residing in
Toledo, Ohio., where he passed away
from an attack of heart disease. •He
is sarvived by a wife and child. Mrs.
Eliza Harlton of Sable is also sister
of the deceased. Our sympathy is ex-
tended to the sorrowing ones.-Je L.
