At Salisbury, 83 Miles from London,
23 Americans and Canadians were !Kil-
led and many others were wounded in
the wrecking of a special train running
from Plymouth to London, early Sun-
day morning. The train was going at
a very high speed, and when turning
a sharp curve the engine jumped the
track and crashed into a freight. The
Canadians killed were Walter Barwick
of Toronto, law partner of Hon. A. B.

The Western Fair of London, Ont.,
will be held this year Sept 7th to 15the
Over three thousand prize 'lists aud
several. hhndred hangers have already,
been mailed, and the large posters
will be sent out in a few clays. •
The Board have this year , added
over $1500 to the prize het, making
the prizes in all classes Well worth
in quite fast and space is being alleted

as the leading exhibition of Western
Ontario, and manufacturers and mer-

The prize list of the Canadian 'Na-
tional Exhibition to beheld in Toronto,

nearly every d.epartment there is a ma-
terial increase in the premiums. In the
horse department classes have been
added for Welsh, Shetland an& Hack-
neyp,onies, and the Prizes in the first

aIso been decided to award the prem-
iums in the trials of speed on tbe three

completed contest and the money to be

Association having increased their

Oodevich, July 3 ---Eleven men are
now in jail here for the Kingsbridge
charivetri shooting‘ affray last week,
Joshua:Russey, the youtig man who
went out to quiet the crowd was shot
by one of them. He now lies. critical-
ly ill at his home with 27 shots, size B,
in his body, beck and head. The men
are held upon the charge of vvounding.
The case will come up this week. In
case the victim dies the charge will be
changed to one of murder.
