A remarkable Monstrosity, or per-
haps more proper'ly, freak of develop-
ment, was reported to us yesterday.
The snhj('ct is a child boru Thursday
last, ut:olt five Utiles from, the city,
The child is perfectly normal and
natural with nue exception, the walls ox
cowling to the abdomen are trausper,
ant. There is uo thiok outside skin or
epidermis, but simply a to e bladder
like covering, which Admits bf a thor.
ough inspection of t•lie various organs.
The e }tiro °entente of the abdomen lie
in full view. We have boon assured by
physicians that such an anomalous de-
velopment as in this ease is unknown
to them and that, furthermore, the
"becks" do not record a similar case.
The child is a male, tirst•born, weighs
10 pounds, seemingly well, and the
non of youthful, robust parents.
Yesterday the father reported it and
mother as doing well, the child feeding
from its mother's breast as naturally as
any other, and otherwise in perfeet
health. It may live, but the chances
are against it. We are indebted to Dr.
8. N. Jordan ,who was called to see the
child, for a report of the sane.
