T a lacamu43s.—On Thursday evening, 20th tilt, this popular and well-known troupe of bell ringers and comedians performed in Drew's hall to a well-filled hoose. Everything on. the programme was excellently rendered. The singing.aud acting of ;Johnny Brindle was better even than usual, and evoked much amusement, and many encores. The character' acting' of Harry Elides was as good as we have seen with any travelling company, and his faci- al contortions were nothing short of wonderful. His representation of the ower fu' old' man af- ter a Champagne supper was marvellous, and perfectly natural and elicited rounds of hearty applause. A. little more of the sweet Music of the bells would not have been unwelcome. We Would here remark that the present fashion among ,' oIi pauiea..of this kind of selecting some persons in the town in which they are playing and making them the subjects of many pointed aii4 personal' allusions is' one that does not comineud itself to the better class of people. it is characteristic of variety trouped silk reeve .1 .ltereZ3 31..— let altin°3-2 3 rebatkllt- any r rvie :a in e_3n213 etiiin with tho yletlit'dist (% lr3h'' ill rteIi:t1 in theC'Attarea hereon San. - day and M today nem:. 021 S Imlay sermons will 1,3 dc'livereil sat 10.30 a.tn1, and 41.301.14, The missionary' meeting. trill to held on 'Mon- day eve:013 at 7.a1'a ca'011341 t, tv1.1011LddrOsses w111 be dtlivt:rt'dl 141 $;:Ave. 3, L. Tinder the genial infiuencir of old Sot, the trees were budding, the grass was springing, and all nature seemed to smile. Theroads were extremely muddy, on some of the back roads the axles of wagons serape], tue mud, and even the leading grav- el roars wore at some times almost impassable. Cow weather has at last sot in, but according to the predictions of Verner we need not look fur continued. coldweather until February. 'vdrtirou's ALMANAC for the ensuing year is to hand, and is au interesting little work, con- taining a great deal of information regarding twaather signs, eto., and other matters which x111 a111ase and perhaps eelighten the general reader. Mr. Veanor's predictions regarding the general weather features of the seasons have proved in the main correct, but neither he nor any one else eau tell months ` or even weeks beforehand the particular days on.which we will have rain, snow or sunshine. Vennor predicts a winter with little if any snow, and a ,good deal of rain. Er2ECTEa.—At the last regular meeting of the Exeter Division, S. of T., the following of- ficers were elected: - • W. Y.
