Town Hall
remains a
DHC option
MITCHELL - The upper floor
of the Mitchell Town Hall is still
being considered as an option
for the new home of the Huron -
Perth District Health Council,
the mayor of Mitchell said last
week.
Mayor Hugh McCaughey
made the statement in response
to criticism from dcputy-reeve
Bob Burtenshaw.
The deputy -reeve said he was
disappointed that news of the
town hall option was revealed in
thc Mitchell Advocate before it
was formally approved by coun-
cil.
The mayor said all options
should be explored without
bias.
"I think it's wrong not to look
at all options," McCaughey said.

have to say [about possibly leas-
ing the town half ."

Scenic gardens donations
continuing to come in
The Lions Club
has raised over
$100,000
towards the
MacNaughton
Park project
EXETER - Donations continue
to come in towards the Exeter Li-
ons Club's scenic gardens project,
buoyed by a new campaign to ded-
icate paving stones to donors.
John Stephens said that some
$2,200 has been donated towards
Ithe gardens in the past month,
largely through the new paving
stone sale project. Donors of $100
to $1,000 can have inscriptions en-
graved on various sizes of stones.
Stephens said the club still hopes
the stones will prove to be popular
Christmas gifts for town families.
A store -front display on Main
Street in Exeter has been "getting
quite a bit of attention", said Ste-
phens.
An earlier program to dedicate
'the benches in the gardens for
$300 donations quickly sold out,
leading the club to speculate the
price could have been higher, or at
the least make them wish there
were more benches in the gardens.
11 All the trees in the park have
also been "sold" to donors to the ' Donations to
project, reported Stephens. $108,022.
