Lucknow to host
bowling championships

ZURICH - Lucknow Lanes will
host the Bluewater 5 Pin Bowlers'
Association (O.F.P.B.A.) three
game, pins over average, zone roll -
offs of the Hiram Walker Special
Old National League Executive
Championships Sunday at 1 p.rn.
The top league president, secretary
and treasurer will advance to the
provincial championship at an On-
tario Five Pin Bowlers' Association
designated location January 28
leading to the Nationals April 29 at
Ottawa.

president Gary Huston won a Hir-
am Walker award for finishing
twenty-first with 81 pins over his
average in the three game Special
Old Association Provincial champi-
onship Saturday at Hamilton.
OFPBA Hall of Fame
Dorchester's Betty Lou Field,
formerly form London, was induct-
ed into the Players' division of the
OFPBA Hall of Fame Saturday at
Hamilton's Convention Centre.
One of her many accomplishments
is having qualified a record 29
times to represent the London As-
sociation in the OFPBA Ontario
Open championships.

compete in the Bluewater Associa-
tion OFPBA Youth Challenge five
game zone rolloffs November 20,

The top seven girls and top seven
boys, plus the next highest scoring
bowlers, will advance to the OFP-
BA six -game match play regional
finals against Grey -Bruce, Maple
Hills and Grand River on January
15 at an OFPBA designated centre.

Nominate a conservationist!
The Ausable-Bayfield Conservation Authority recognizes outstanding
achievements in conservation and environmental protection with the
annual presentation of the Conservation Awards. A maximum of six
awards may be presented each year. The deadline for 1994 nominations
has been extended to December 1.
Recipients of the awards will have undertaken conservation efforts over
a number of years that have long-term benefits for the natural environ-
ment and society.
Examples of conservation activities include:
▪ improving local water quality
• conservation farming
• reforestation
• providing fish and wildlife habitat
• environmental education
• promoting environmental ethics and awareness
Eligibility for Awards
Individuals, organizations or companies who either reside in or have
completed conservation work within the area of jurisdiction of the
Ausable-Bayfield Conservation Authority are eligible to win an award
(with the exception of current ABCA staff and directors).
