Mifflin INN= MEM MIME MIMI MOM Exeter Chrysler on the Grand Opening of your lovely new facilities We were very proud to have supplied and installed the carpet and ceramic tile Mittrie9s Fine Furniture, Flooring and Window Fashions 467 Main Street, Exeter 235-0173 to Out _ r Your response to our Sunday Shopping Questionnaire was overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write down their opinions, and a special thanks to everyone who came in and spoke to us in person and over the phone to let us know your feelings on, the issue. The arguments for and against opening were very interesting. Those who asked us not to open urged us to keep it a day for worship or a day to spend with our families. Others said that since we are open at 8:00 every morning and stay open every weeknight until 9:00, we are giving everyone an ample amount of time to complete their grocery shopping without having to open Sundays. Those who said "yes" to Sunday shopping asked us t open mostly for convenience, or for the fact that they currently drive elsewhere to shop and they zvould prefer to do their shopping here. Of the 359 people who responded, 299 asked us to please stay closed; 57 hoped we would open and 3 people said they really didn't care what we did. Of the 299 people who said no, many said that given the choice, they would shop at a store that was closed on Sunday on a regular basis and boycott any that opened. M`. So, for now, we are going to remain closed on Sundays. We hope that our stand on this issue does not adversely effect our relationship with the 16% of our customers who asked us to open, but we have received a great deal of support from the "no" side, and we can't ignore the result of our customer poll. Hopefully, we'll continue serving you better and saving you more 6 days a week and not 7. Should the competitive situation in our town make it imperative for us to open Sundays sometime in the future, we hope everyone will understand that it is not something we wanted to do.
