ter of Alice Gingerich of RR1

On Saturday, July 23, 1994
Rhonda Lee Verth and David
Glenn Osborne were united in
marriage in St. Andrews Me-
morial Church, Kitchener.
Rhonda is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Verth,
Kitchener and David is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Osborne of Exeter. Rev.
James Sutton officiated. Maid
of honour was Wendy Martin,
best friend of the bride. Best
ma Michael Verth, brother of
th bride. Bridesmaids Cyn-
th a Osborne, sister of the
groom and Tina Bertrand cou-
sin of the bride. Ushers were
Scott Dawe, cousin of the
groom and Stephen Taziar,
best friend of the groom. Re-
ception was held at the Walp-
er Hotel in Kitchener. Fol-
lowing their honeymoon in
Florida, the happy couple now
reside in Kitchener. Glenn
and Rhonda would like to
thank all their family and
friends for making their day
so special.

Sandra McDonald, daughter
of King and Audrey McDo-
nald, Exeter and Thadeus Ze-
broski, son of Tadeus and
Mildred Zebroski, Ancaster
were united in marriage Sat-
urday, August 20, 1994 at Ex-
eter United Church. The maid
of honour was Riva Abdilla,
friend of the bride. Best man
was Dane Brakewell, friend of
the groom. Flowergirl was
Christina McVittie, niece of
the bride. Kathy McVittie, sis-
ter of the bride was reader
and Bronwyn Pearson was so-
loist. Ushers were Rick McDo-
nald, brother of the bride and
Rob Rigole, brother-in-law of
the groom. Doug McVittie,
brother-in-law of the bride
was Master of Ceremonies.
The happy couple spent their
honeymoon in P.E.I. and are
now residing in Brantford
where both teach for the
Brant Board of Education.

Teri Lamb and Kevin Wallace
were united in marriage on
August 13, 1994. Teri is the
daughter of Wayne and Gaye
Lamb of Milverton and Kevin
is the son of Don and Joanne
Wallace, Exeter. The wedding
took place in Exeter United
Church with Rev. Cordell Par-
sons officiating. Matron of
honour was Abby Hannah, Hu-
ron Park, friend of the bride
and groom. Bridesmaids were
Karen Van Altena, Shipka,
sister of the groom, Kendra
Masse, Huron Park, niece of
groom and Ashlea Watson,

Traditional turkey supper at Granton
The supper was held at the Anglican church.

GRANTON - A number of Granton area residents attended the tradition-
al turkey supper at Holy Trinity Anglican Church October 26.
Seniors
Granton Optimist Becky Kindree convened the seniors luncheon and eu-
chre at the Masonic Hall Friday, October 28 when everyone received a
prize.

Granton W.I. delegate Muriel Lewis attended the 80th annual London
Area Women's Institute Convention hosted by East Middlesex District at
the Caradoc Community Centre in Mt. Brydges on October 27.
The total attendance was 308 from the 10 districts in the counties of
Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford, Huron and Perth South, and the program theme
was 'Celebrate and Communicate with Our Women's Institute Family'.
Fire hall
Area residents are reminded of the opening of the new fire hall in Gran-
ton this Sunday, November 6 at 3 p.m.
Remembrance Day
The Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph will be held Friday, No-
vember 11 at 2 p.rn. conducted by the Lucan Legion.
Church services
At St. Thomas Anglican Church on Sunday, the Rev. Stephen Emery led
the service of morning prayer. In his message, he reflected on the text
from Mark 12 'Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and
love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than
these.'
Service time next Sunday is 11 a.m.
At Granton United Church on Sunday,
her sermon 'A different drummer' based on the lessons from Ruth I, He-
brews 9 and Mark 12.
Tyler Riddell lit the Christ Candle and the anthem by the choir was
'Dear Lord and Father of Mankind'.

Legion plans service

HENSALL - Hensall Legion
Branch 468 are holding a Remem-
brance Day service, November 6, at
the Hensall United Church. Follow-
ing a parade and service at the cen-
otaph, coffee, chocolate milk and
doughnuts will be served at the Le-
gion by the Ladies Auxiliary.
Legion members are reminded to
pay their Legion dues by Novem-
ber 30.
November 11, the annual Re-
membrance Day banquet is being
held at the Hensall Arena. Tickets
are available from Legion members
or at the Legion.
Thursday, November 3, Legion
members of Br. 468 and the Cadet
Corps will he selling poppies door
to door. The poppy boxes have
been placed in several businesses
in Hensall and Zurich. Let's not
forget the symbol of the bright red
Poppy.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning we will remem-
ber them.'
Church news
At Hensall United Church, this
past Sunday, Rev. Hcnry Annen
was conducting services. The or-
ganist was Belva Fuss. The leaders
of the Junior congregation conduct-
ed a service of introduction and
blessing. Junior minister Jason
Corbett read an old testament les-
son. The choir sang "On the Hill-
top,'
The greeter was Ian McAllister,
and the ushers were Dave Camp -
hell and Jerry Traquair. The mes-
sage was "Such a Friend".

The Granton 4-H Club #1 met at leader Margaret Bryan's home on Oc-
tober 27 to commence the 'Home for the Holidays' project.
Atter opening with the pledge they played some games to get acquaint-
ed. During the election of officers, Susan Bryan was chosen as president,
Cheryl Harrigan as vice-president, and there will be rotating secretaries.
Next, they went to the kitchen and made punch and date balls. Wreaths
were also made out of grape vines and decorated for Christmas.
Refreshments were served by Mary Mcllhargey and Shannon O'Shea.
Next meeting is planned for November 3 at the home of leader Deanna
Beatson.
