Isabelle Harlton has taken up res- idence at the Park Place Apart- ments in Lucan as of last week. Alma Nicholson and Florence Bryan have returned home from two week's vacation with friends and relatives in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Nora Wissel and Muriel Lewis enjoyed di9per at the Zurich Bean Festival on August 27. Robert Parkinson spent a few days in Ottawa last week with Scott Delorme when he renewed acquaintances with his friends from last year and all got together for a reception at the Chateau Laurier. Friends and neighbours gathered at the St. Thomas' Anglican Church last Tuesday, August 23 for a kitchen shower for Betty Roney and her mother Agnes Moriarty, who lost many of their household items in a fire a few weeks ago. Florence Bryan and Muriel Lew- is attended an open house in cele- bration of the 80th birthday of their cousin Lena Winser, held at the home of her son Ken and Diane Winser in London on Sunday. By Rhoda Rohde THAMES ROAD - Around 200 people attended the pork barbecue on Sunday at Thames Road Church. During supper some of the people sang 'Happy Birthday' to Rhoda Rohde. The September meeting of the U.C.W. will be held Tuesday, Sep- tember 13 at the Masonic Hall. The program committee is Doris Elford, Margaret Miller, Lorraine Alexan- der, and Rhoda Rohde. Members are to let the program committee know if they are attending the sup- per meeting by September 5. Roll call will be "What holiday or day off did you enjoy the most this past year?"
