Blue Water residents pIcnlc at
Morrison Dam conservation area
ZURICH - Tuesday afternoon the residents of Blue
Water Rest Home played "Kick the Can", a game de-
signed to make homemade ice cream and create exer-
cise for seniors. Many residents kept their toes point-
ed and prepared to give -the can their best effort. Of
course the best pan was tasting their efforts.
Rev. Robert Degraw, Faith Tabernacle Church,
Centralia conducted Thursday afternoon Chapel Ser-
vice. Rev. Degraw's daughter Sharon Parker accom-
panied the service on the organ while her ten -year-
old son Justin Parker played the violin. The congre-
gation enjoyed the accomplishments of such a young
artist.
Fr. Matthias Wronski, St. Boniface Church, Zurich
celebrated Mass.
Friday morning, with a cool breeze to the west, the
residents hoarded the bus for a picnic at Morrison
Dant. Exeter. Being a little cool and too soft a foot-
ing for their wheelchairs, they were content to enjoy
the view and indulge in sandwiches and watermelon.
Glen Thiel took them on a tour. of the Crediton area
to look at the damage of the fields by heavy winds,
rain and hail the previous week.
Cathy Shantz took her guests on a leisurely drive
among the many new homes in the town of Exeter.
Theodore (Ted) Steinbach, Nelson Howe, Marcella
Dietrich, Pearl Miller, Ruby Bell, Esther Makins,
Edna Johnston and Harvey Keys enjoyed their day's
outing.
The residents look forward to the live theatre by'
Huron County Playhouse on August 8, an August
Birthday Party with Bayfield U.C.W. on August 9
and the "Sounds of Summer" by a couple from
Brussels on August 10.
Residents welcome Earl (Duke) John Yungblut,
hushand of Edith of Zurich, who has taken up resi-
dency at the Home; and Henricus (Harry) Joseph
Maas, hushand of Kate of Maplewoods Apartments
(a former resident of Exeter).
Best wishes go to Joseph Kenda Sr. in South Hu-
ron District Hospital, Exeter.
Condolences go to the family and friends of the
late Percy Campbell, who passed away at the home
July 29. He has been a resident at the home the past
couple years, formerly from Hensall where he was
well known as a very meticulous farmer. Percy's
wife Emma resides at Maplewoods Apartments and
was most fortunate to celebrate her 65th wedding
anniversary with Percy last year.
