Roof put on
new church
CENTRALIA - it has been a
busy three weeks for thc Centralia
Faith Tabernacle congregation as
well as friends, relatives and neigh-
bours as they have made great
progress on the new building. The
roof which was built on the ground,
was lowered into place by a crane
in nine sections and was quite
amazing to watch.
The first open air service sched-
uled for the summer held on Sun-
day night was enjoyed as gospel
singer Joyce D. igo from the south-
ern U.S. ministered through song.
The Sunday School "fun night"
of soccerbaseball, hotdogs and pop
is set for August 8 at the McCurdy
School. Everyone is welcome.

Zurich Fair ambassador chosen
17 year-old Sabrina Schilbe was
this year's winner.

ZURICH - Once again the annual Zurich Fair was
a big success. Congratulations to this year's ambas-
sador Sabrina Schilbe, 17 -year-old daughter of Irene
and Dave, RR #2, Zurich.
She was sponsored by her grandparents Len and
Dolores of Schilbe Pro Hardware.
Winner of the Princess Contest was Heidi Klopp,
daughter of Paul and Heather, RR #2, Zurich.
Exchange students
The Zurich Lions Club once again prepared and
served breakfast in St. Marys on Sunday morning to
approximately 35 International exchange students
who are in the area at various host families for the
month of July. They spent last week at camp in St.
Marys, sponsored by the Lions Club.
Bean festival meeting
The next bean festival committee meeting will be
held on July 27 at the bean kitchen on Victoria
Street, next to the car wash, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to plan for the upcoming event
on August 27. Also an updated picture will ba taken
for the souvenir book.
Bus trip
Anyone interested in going on a bus trip to the
Millbank area on August 13 are to contact Glen
Thiel (236-4060). The bus will leave from St. Peter's
Lutheran Church at 9:00 a.m.
The cost is $22.00 per person which includes din-
ner at the Stone Crock in Elmira.
Pork barbecue
The Knights of Columbus of St. Boniface parish
are planning their annual pork barbecue and corn
roast to be held on August 14 outdoors on the lawns
at the back.
Yard sale
Everyone is encouraged to get their unwanted
items ready for sale at the Zurich Community Yard
Sale on JAugust 6 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Golf tourney
An anniitlI golf tournament was held at Bayview
golf course n Saturday followed by a barbecue sup-
per and music at the cottage of Corky and Shirley
Bedard at Bayview Sub to raise money for research
in memory af their son Dan.
Senior Diners
Fifty-three seniors enjoyed a ham dinner July 20 at
the Communit}\Centre. Tammy Antaya welcomed
all diners, and reminded them of upcoming events.
Lloyd Otterbein was the 50/50 winner. Gertie
Fleischauer read a poem 'The Zurich Fair'. Kate
Fletcher and her helpers treated the diners to an Obe-
dience Course demonstration by six beautiful well-
groomed dogs. Euchre\and Solo were played.
Personals
Sunday visitors with Frieda Moore were son Dan
and Marlene Moore from ,Dutton and daughter Judy
and Ted Voogel, RR #1 Dshwood.
They also helped, Sheldn Clausius celebrate his
second birthday along with, family and friends at the
home of his parents, Craig and Jackie Clausius on
Sunday. j
The Mousseau family reunion was held at the
home of Chuck and Tanya Erb on Sunday.
A supper was held at the home of Tony and Sandra
Regier in honour of his sister Sharon Baker's birth-
day on July 20.
A family dinner was held at the home of Bonnie
Schenk and family on Sunday to help her dad, Glen
Neeb, celebrate his birthday on July 26.
Happy birthday wishes go out to Louis Masse on
July 26; to two-year-old Amy Schilbe on July 24,
daughter of Jody and Wayne; and to Doreen Oesch
and brother-in-law Ray Oesch who are both 70 on
July 26.
Congratulations to Meda O'Brien for her 90th
birthday on Sunday, July 24. Family and friends
joined her for the morning service at the United
Church followed by a get-together with relatives
coming from Toronto, Sarnia, Goderich, London and
the Zurich area.
Recent dinner guest with Andrew and Alida Rau
were Betty Grenier of Hensall and a niece, Helen
Vallee from Vancouver, B.C. who was visiting with
relatives in the area for a week. .
Luella Willert recently returned home from a five-
week vacation with her children in Alberta. She at-
tended the wedding of grandson Scott Willert to
Rhonda Miller on June 25 in Olds, Alberta. He is the
son of Carl and Marg Willert. She also visited with
Carl in the hospital while there. .
Best wishes for a speedy recovery are extended to
Maria Kenda, a patient in Victoria Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Simmons, the former Nola
Krueger, of Trenton visited recently with Mary and
Laird Jacobe at RR #2, Zurich.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hebert of Washington State are
visiting with cousins Jerry Kane and Laird and Mary
Jacobe.
Roger, Dean and Shawn O'Brien, and Francis De-
nomme and children, Jim, Joey and Michelle, recent-
ly spent a few days in Parry Sound and while there'
eight-year-old Shawn landed.a 42", 20 pound pike.
Megan O'Brien. daughter of Greg and Yvonne was
baptized at their home, RR #1 Zurich on July 10 by
Rev. Chris Morgan with friends and relatives attend-
ing, along with two great-grandmothers and grand-
parents.
Congratulations to Kristin Stephan and Mike
Schefter who were married on July 16 in Stratford at
St. Joseph's Church. The bride is the daughter of
Jack and Sandy of Zurich.
The couple are living in Stratford.
Pastor Annette Smith, Chaplin at Western Univer-
sity in London, along with het parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Lamont from Nova Scotia recently visited with Herb
and Donna Klopp at Cedar Villa, RR #3 Zurich.
Rick and Marg Gingerich and their children re-
turned home last Tuesday from a three week holiday
travelling to Fort McMurray, Alberta where they vis-
ited with her sister Mary -Ann and Randy Craner.
A barbecue party was held at the home of Karl and
Mary Regier on Saturday in honour of Rose -Mary
Regier and Jeff Dickson with many friends and rela-
tives attending. The couple are planning to be mar-
ried on August 6.
Sunday afternoon, July 17, a 20th anniversary cele-
bration wag held for Bill and Ruth Ann Mills, Lon-
don in St. Peter's Lutheran Church hall, Zurich, ar-
ranged by her' mother, Gertie Fleischauer. The hall'
was decorated in pink, white, and silver. Eighty-five
relatives and friends attended from Brantford, Wing -
ham, Wellesley, Goderich, London, Mt. Brydges,
Exeter and Zurich. A musical program and speeches
were enjoyed before the dinner which was served by
Jerry Rader's Home -style Catering service.

HENSALL - Thirty-nine mem-
bers of the John and Elizabeth Mill-
er family met at the Hensall Kins-
men Park on July 17, to enjoy a
bountiful smorgasbord dinner.
President Ray McCurdy wel-
comed all, and called upon Jean
Hodgen for the secretary -
treasurer's report. The picnic for
1995 will be held at Hensall with
dinner at 1:30 p.m.

SAINTSBURY - Bathia Bertram,
Hamish and Patricia Prise, mother,
sister and brother-in-law of Marga-
ret and Ron Carroll arrived Friday
for a two week visit from Turriff,
Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Brenda
Carroll and family and Ian Carroll
were Friday evening dinner guests
as well. On Sunday the Carrolls en-
tertained 21 relatives to dinner in-
cluding Carfrey and Anne Cann,
Gerry and Pat Kading of Grand
Bend, Donald and Joan Cann, St.
Thomas, David and Mary Ann
Cann, Adam and Andrew of Port
Elgin, Deanna Pearson, Brehda
Carroll and family and Ian Carroll.
The day was perfect with an after-
noon of visiting and getting reac-
quainted.

and Corbin MacGillivray have re-
turned honie from a holiday at Li-
ons Head with grandparents Jack
and Stevie MacGillivray.
Harley Davis was fourth place
winner on Sunday in the Summer
MX Challenge at the Paisley
R.A.T. Track in the 60 cc Pec Wee
class. His dad Michael Davis
placed second in the Vintage class.
During a recent family vacation
at Roselawn Lodge in Bala, Mus-
koka, Fred Dobbs III, The Rev. Pa-
tricia Dobbs Luxton, and her hus-
band The Rev. Rob Luxton spent a
few days with parents, Patricia and
