CENTRALIA - Women at Cen-
tralia United Church welcomed
everyone to worship at the service
on Father's Day with the opening
song "Come in and sit down, we
are a part of the family". This was
part of the special music they pro-
vided for Father's Day. Later, they
sang the anthem "Would You Bless
Our Home and Families."
Hymns during worship included
"I've Got the Joy, Joy, Joy", "This
Is My Father's World", "Give to
Us Laughter", and "Blest Be the
Tie that Binds."
Pastor Heather Smith told the
children the story of "The Always
Prayer Shawl". Her sermon was en-
titled "The Father of Laughter".
She told about Sarah, who gave
birth to a baby when she was 90
years old. The name "Isaac" means
laughter. Pastor Smith asked the
members of the congregation to
think about one thing their fathers
told them that they remember best.
She also asked about traditions peo-
ple have to celebrate Father's Day.
Scripture readings were taken
from Genesis 18:1-15 and Romans
5:1-8. Iva Blair gave the readings.

Poison ivy can be a problem this time of the
year. It's not contagious, so it can't spread
from one person to another. But the resin left ;
on your clothes can cause a rash at a later
date, so wash all clothing well after retuming
from a poison Ivy -Infested area. To avoid poi- M
son ivy, wear long sleeved shirts, long pants, socks an
the bush.
Sleep problems could be related to your bed. it should be comfortably
firm, supporting your entire body. it should also be roomy. If two of you
are sleeping in a double bed, you each have as much space as found
in a baby's crib. Go for the queen or king-size mattress.
Coconut oil is cholesterol -free. (Only animal fats contain cholesterol).
However, it Is very high in saturated fat and should be avoided by per-
sons on a low -cholesterol diet. Saturated fats deposit cholesterol on
artery walls.
One of the best medicines In the world Is a positive attitude. People
that are more cheerful and who take time to enjoy the simple pleas-
ures in life, seem to have less sickness. And even If they do get sick,
they seem to get well faster because of their positive mental state.

B.C. trip
Rev. Dr. Robert and Ellen Gra-
ham of Huron Park recently re-
turned from holidays in B.C. While
there they decided to visit Robert's
old Alma Mater, the Burnaby
South High School. They were
doubly surprised. First, the school
had been torn down to make way
for businesses and condominiums,
and secondly, the now school fea-
tured an auditorium called "The
Michael J. Fox Theatre" Michael
J. Fox was also a student at Burna-
by South High School, and the new
facility was named in his honor.
The Grahams took a ferry to
Vancouver Island, visiting Butch -
art's Gardens, The Empress Hotel,
and Beacon Hill Park . They stayed
overnight with a nephew, Dennis
Kaechele and his family near Rob-
ert's Creek.
They also enjoyed a ride on the
Royal Hudson Steam Train to
Squarish, a walk across the Capi-
laino Suspension Bridge and a ride
up the gondolas at Grouse Moun-
tain Ski Hill.
They visited their son David Gra-
ham and daughter-in-law Lorraine
Dressler and their two grandchil-
dren, Henry and Emily, of Langley.
While there they toured the Simon
Fraser University. Robert's cousin,
Mel Hand told him they hauled ce-
ment for three years steady during
SFU's initial construction.
They also went to see Ellen's
brother Clarence Love, originally
from Hillsgreen, Hay township,
now living at Harrop, B.C. near
Kootenay Lake.
