Cadet inspection
The 2923 Huron Middlesex Royal Canadian Army Cadet
Corps marked their 22nd Annual inspection and the end
of another training year on Thursday. The annual
inspection was followed by demonstrations of parade
drills, rifle drills and, pictured above, a tug -of -war -contest.
The cadets are sponsored by the Exeter and Lucan
Legions and this year their reviewing officer was Captain
John Morgan of the Exeter Volunteer Fire Department.

THAMES ROAD - Rev. Jim Allsop was in charge of the regular Trinity
Sunday church service on Sunday morning.
The congregation sang the Doxology. The responsive reading was taken
from the Service Book "The Lord of Man's World", Psalm 8. The choir
sing "I Walk Alone With Jesus", accompanied by organist Marilyn Van-
denbussche.
The offering was received by Ray Cann and Bill Rohde.
Rev. Allsop gave a report on the London Conference.
They sang the children's hymn 'The Wise May Bring Their Learning"
and Rev. Allsop told the children's story about the Trinity, clod the Father,
Son and the Holy Spirit. The scripture lesson from the ,Old Testament
Genesis 1:1-5 and from the l4ew Testament II Corinthians 13:11-13 was
read by Jean Hodgert.
Rev. Allsop read from the Gospel of Matthew 28:16-20.

They sang the closing hymn "Fa oat Ty".
Rev. Allsop pronounced the benediction. Laurel Miner put lilacs and tu-
lips in the brass urns on the pedestals, and the flowers on the communion
table were placed in memory of the late Dolly Osgood by her son Doug
and Ruthanne Osgood and family.
Ten U.C.W. members attended the postponed "Daffodil Tea" at Elim-
ville on Wednesday evening. Women from Centralia, Kirkton, Thames
Road, Woodham and Zion were in attendance. Shirley Kerslake welcomed'
everyone and gave the theme "Nature" and read'a poem "Hive You Ever
Gone Out Walking?"' ►
The women sang "Our God Has Made This World." She read from Gen-
esis 1.
Sharon Lynn introduced the soloist Colleen Clayburn of near St. Marys
who sang "I Found the Answer" and "I Come to the Garden" which were
much enjoyed. Kerslake gave a reading "An Ugly Old Tulip Bulb" and led
in prayer. The group repeated the Lord's Prayer.
The women sang "For the Beauty of the Earth". Kerslake read "What a
Great Way to Start the Day". She introduced Kate Monk of the Ausable
Bayfield Conservation Authority who spoke and showed pictures of
"Birds In Our Back Yard", which was very interesting and informative.
Lynn thanked Clayburn and Kerslake thanked Mink and they were each
presented with a basket of flowering plants.
The women sang "What a Wonderful World" and the meeting was
closed with prayer and the singing of Grace. A lunch and beverage were
served.
Personals
On Thursday the Sunbeams are having a Wrapup Pool Party and Puppet
Show at Cheryl Bilcke's home from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Rain date is June
7. Everyone is welcome. Snacks will be provided.
On Sunday, June 8 the Thames Road Sunday School Anniversary ser-
vice will begin at 11 a.m. Note the earlier time.
On Sunday, June 16, Communion service will be held at Elimville and
Thames Road churches at the regular hours.
On Sunday, June 23 is Elimville Sunday School Anniversary.
Lori Lynn Lauzon, Katrina and Carrington of Timmins are visiting with
the former's parents Jack and Fen a Stewart.
Get well wishes are extended to Tom Passmore, who is a patient in St.
Joseph's Health Centre, London. •
Bill and Rhoda Rohde were Saturday evening supper guests with Lloyd
and Dorothy Knight, Exeter, and Sunday evening supper guests with
Glenn and Marilyn Rohde and Tammy.

BOSANQUET- According to
North Lambton police, a 55 year-
old man is in critical condition at
Victoria Hospital in London after
the vehicle he was driving left
Highway 21 and rolled over.
Ravenswood resident James
McDonald was travelling south-
bound when the vehicle left the
road.
The single -car accident occurred
at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sat-
urday in the Town of Bosanquet,
near Ravenswood.
