Grand d Motorplex
promised a show that
would blow spectators
away on the Victoria Day
Weekend and they
delitered with a 25,000
horsepowered Chevy Truck
called "Shock Wave."
Blowing out 30 foot
flames, the dragster is
powered by a twin jet
engine and uses a massive
parachute to slow it down
at the end of its run. It's
fastest time at Motorplex
happened on Sunday when
it burned down the 1/4
mile track in 8.83 seconds
reaching a top speed of
173.74 mph. Fireworks
shot into the sky as it
crossed the finish line. The
raceway was a popular
place among weekend
visitors who also took in
two open-air rock concerts
on Sunday night. Motorplex
is gearing up for their next
"super show" on June 15-
16 when they host the
Asphalt Sled Provincial
Series and Father's Day
Harley Davidson Show and
Race.

Peace Day
Peace Day In Klrkton recently was a great success. As
part of the activities, "Adisa's window of hope" poster was
laid out by artist Lynn Townsend of Monkton (left) who en-
couraged participants such as Cally Nichol, Exeter to
sponge on some tulip tops. Townsend will later fill the ar-
eas with vines and leaves to complete the poster before
shipping over to Croatia.
Health and Safety Expo held on May 10, sponsored by the Neighbourhood Watch programs of
Crediton, Centralia and Huron Park was a huge success. From the left are organizers Brenda
Morgan and Phyllis Collett of Crediton and Barb Gage of Huron Park. Missing from the picture
was Dianne Andrews of Centralia.
