Couples trying to conceive a child should
know that fertility lasts for six days lead-
ing up to and including the day of ovula-
tion.
if you are a smoker and an insulin -
diabetic, you really should stop smoking. If you are successful,
you may not need as much insulin. Smoking can lower blood
flow to the tissues which lowers insulin absorption. Monitoring
your blood sugar is important at these times.
Everyone wants to slow up the aging process. A diet that goes a
long way toward this goal includes the following: reduce fat to
less than 30% of total caloric intake; increase fibre intake to
25-35 Gm per day; eat foods rich in Vitamins C,E, and bete -
carotene, the anti -oxidant vitamins; eat low-fat foods high in cal-
cium and Just for good measure, take a good multi-vitamin.
From the historic myth department: In the early part of this cen-
tury it was believed that constipation could cause "autointoxica-
tion"... the poisoning of your body from the contents of your co-
lon. There is no truth to this view. The fecal matter in your
bowel does not infiltrate the wall to "poison" the rest of your
body.
