Carmel P.C.W. held their meet-
ing on May 6 with vice president
Marilyn Campbell presiding. After
welcoming everyone, she opened
the meeting with a Mother's Day
poem. Roll call was answered by
17 members. Cathy Bell was in
charge of worship, using 'Mother
and the Christian Family' as her
theme. Business followed when re-
ports were given and correspon-
dence read.
Rachael Schwalm read a letter
from the Bible Society thanking
the group for the used postage
stamps. The group's sister church
for the next two years will be the
Elma group from Atwood. The
meeting concluded with prayer and
lunch was served by Marg Baker
and Marg Varley.
At Hensall United Church the
Sunday service began with the an-
nouncements, a moment to prepare,
the Sanctus, Call to worship and
prayers. "Joyful, Joyful We3Adore
Thee" was sung followed by Prayer
of Confession in unison. Words of
Assurance and Greetings preceded
•the baptismal service of Tiffany
Lynn Falconer, daughter of Brad
and Donna. A hymn of dedication
and the baptismal hymn were sung.
The children's hymn "Oh Be Care-
ful" was sung. The New Testament

reading was from John 14:15-21.
Rev. Annen's message was 'The
Mother's Side of God". "We Praise
You Oh God" and "Mothers of Sa-
lem" were sung. Wayne and Elaine
Corbett were the ushers. Prayers of
Dedication, Doxology, Benedic-
tion, and the Three -Fold Amen
brought the service to a close.
Doug Klopp was the organist, Sue
and Dave McGregor, the greeters.
The United Church members aro
preparing for the yard sale oh May.

lunch and beef and turkey pies

The U.C.W. will be packing a
bale on June 3 at 9:30 a.m. May 15
is the Official Board meeting.
Carmel Presbyterian. Church cele-
brated their 148th anniversary Sun-
day with Rev. Dan Roushorne in
the pulpit. The Chamber Choir
from South Huron District High
School provided special music.
Rev. Roushourne's message was
"Keepers of the Springs." The Chil-
dren's hymn was "When Mothers
of Salem" and during the Chil-
dren's Time the church anniversary
was discussed and "Happy Birth-
day" was sung to Carmel Presbyter-
ian. The ushers were Bob Bell, Al
Hoggarth, Harry Smith and Bob
Taylor. The organist was Joyce
Pepper and the pianist was Dorothy
Taylor.

$50.00 to the Brownies: Friday,
May 31, Legion and Ladies Auxil-
iary members will go to Blyth for
joint installations. with . their
Branch. A bus will be leaving from
the Legion at 7 p.m. Members of
the Branch and Ladies Auxiliary to
be installed are to meet at the Le-
gion at 6:45 p.m. There will be
seats available on the bus if there
are other members wishing to go.
