Volunteers
honored
ILDERTON - The theme
"You're a Star" was most appropri-
ate as the outstanding contributions
of Eastern HOMME volunteers
were celebrated on April 22.
Volunteers from Lucan, Bid-
dulph, West Nissouri, London and
Lobo Townships donated almost
4,000 hours of caring last year!
Seven people were presented with
their one year certificate and 22 re-
ceived their five year certificate
and pin. Over 100 people presently
volunteer in this region, with welt
over 450 volunteering country-
wide. Entertainment was provided
by Ted Peters (alias Charlie Far-
quarson), birthday cake from VON
(90 years young!) and with the help
of friends, VON Board Members
and local politicians, a shining year
of accomplishments was honored.

VON Middlesex -Elgin Branch, is a

followed, giving information about
taking prescribed medication and
using generic medication. Gwen
Dykeman demonstrated her cook-
ing talents with light cooking. The
shish kabobs looked great. Follow-
ing lunch, the afternoon program
started off with Marty from
Klomp's Landscaping explaining
fertilizing and care of perennials.
Laura Overholt made sure no one
was sleeping as she took everyone
through a series of stretches.
