An estimated 1,120 Huron County students attended the event SEAFORTH - Last week public school students from Huron County had a chance to learn more about local agriculture through, "Slice of Huron." The event is organized by the Hu-.' ron Agriculture Awareness Com- mittee, which is comprised of rep. resentatives from commodity groups, rural organizations, agri= businesses and education. During April 9-12, approximately 1,120 grade 4 and 5 students had an ur opportunity to get involved with hands-on activities in dairy, red meats, fruits and vegetables, grains, poultry and eggs. Some scheduled activities in- cluded making sausage, getting up close to a sow and her piglets, bot- tle-feeding a calf and grinding corn into flour.
