THAMES ROAD - Rev. Jim All-
sop was in charge of the fifth Sun-
day in Lent church service on Sun-
day morning at Thames Road
United Church. The congregation
sang the Doxology. The Respon-
sive Reading was taken from the
service book "Out of the Depths",
Psalm 130.
The choir sang "Somebody's
Praying for Mc" accompanied by
organist Agnes Bray.
They sang the children's 'Happi-
ness is the Lord."
Rev. Allsop told the children a
story about Lazuras who rose from
the dead.
Rev. Allsop lit the Christ Candle.
Ray Cann and Marilyn Vanden-
hussche received the. offering.
The scripture lesson from the Old
meeting this
Testament Ezekiel 37:1-14 and
from the New Testament Romans
8:6-11 was read by Rhoda Rohde.
Rev. Allsop read from the Gospel
of John 11:1-45. The title of his
sermohr was "1 am the Resurrection
and the Life;' They sang the dos-
ing hymn "He Lives". Rev. Allsop
pronounced the Benediction.
Corning events of the church
ETZWEK Youth Group will
meet next Sunday, March 31 at
Thames Road at 7:30 p.m.
On Friday night, March 29 there
will be a Fun Night and organiza-
tional meeting at Thames Road
from 7 to 9 p.m. for children
grades four, live and six. This is
the group between Messengers and
Youth Group. The children are to
bring a loonie. For more informa-

be served from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
with a joint worship service at
11:00 a.m.
Anyone wishing to place an East-
er lily in the•sanctuary in memory
of a loved one for the joint service
on the Sunday, contact Sharon
Passmore.
Following the service, your East-
er lily can be given to a shut-in if
you wish.

Huron training and Labor
Coalition to discuss training issue
GODERICH - The Huron Train-
ing and Labor Coalition is a com-
munity based organization of repre-
sentatives from industry, all levels
of government, numerous commu-
nity agencies, clients and the pub-
lic. The Coalition is based on a vi-
sion of inclusiveness, and anyone
with an interest is invited to join.
On March 29, rnembers of the co-
alition will he gathering at the Ben -
miller Inn to discuss training and la-
bor market issues. One key issue
involves suggesting alternative
means to re-establishing, maintain-
ing and improving linkages be-
tween employers and labor market
organizations. With the withdrawal
of funding for Jobs Ontario and the
Huron Lndustrial Training Advisory

dustries will be discussing "Change
'or Die". As well, updates on the
following programs will he provid-
ed: Huron Employment Resources
Centres, Gary Davidson; Labor
Market Information, Janice Dun-
bar; Counseling, Susan McKee;
Employer Relations Janice Dunbar;
Training, John Gillespie; Small
Business, Jim Niesen; Women's Is-
sues, Cathy Armour; Student and
Youth, Janice Dunbar; and Local
Boards, Cathy Armour. The coali-
tion also provides an opportunity
for employers and organizations to
network and share information.

HENSALL - Bingo with the Hensall Legion Ladies Auxiliary was the
highlight Monday at Queensway Nursing Home in Hensall: They provided
assistance and prizes for the month of March.
Rev. Gani Lazaro led worship service Tuesday. Residents found his
message gave them much to reflect on. Grace Dinney was pleased to wel-
come her family who usually join her for church but, this Tuesday brought
a cake to help her celebrate her birthday following the church service. •
Breakfast Cluh with a menu consisting of bacon, scrambled eggs, cjleese
and English muffins attracted a good turnout Wednesday.
Pastoral Care volunteer, Winnie Hutton led Bible Study Thursday after-
noon to an attentive group of residents. In the evening residents focused
on Ireland at International Day. A video on Ireland was screened and the
music of John McCormick and Paddy O'Reilly' and numerous others was
enjoyed by all. Dr. O'Conner loaned CD's, maps, and books fo help with
the evening. •
Saturday afternoon the residents gathered for a video about Scotland.

Public Information Meeting
The new Community Care Access Centres (CCAC) will simplify
access to health and support services at home, in Milting
Homes and Homes for the Aged. They combine existing Home
Care programs and Placement Coordination Services to provide
access to nursing, therapy, homemaking, long term care facilities
and information about other services such as Meals on Wheels.
A free public meeting is being held about Community Care
Access Centres. It will be of particular interest to users of long
term care services, staff of long term care agencies, and
potential volunteer CCAC board members.
