Diane Thiel and Deichert gave reports of the recent convention held in Toronto. In the absence of I Ambassador Renee Sweeney, her written report was read by her mother Carmel. Renee will be attending the C.N.E. in Toronto next August. A toad hockey tournament will be held on Saturday, as well as the mini tractor pull. The horse show will take place on Sunday outdoors. The fiddler's Jamboree will be held in the Com- munity Centre. Zurich .Fair .Board planning activities The fair is planned for July 26, 27, and 28. • Carmel Sweeney ZURICH - Twenty-two children, grades 5/6 from St. Boniface Youth group enjoyed bowling at the Town and Country. Lanes during the March Break last Tuesday. The older group, grades 7/8 took part in. a '24 hour famine last Wednesday and Thursday at St. Boniface School gym to raise mon- ey for world development and Shamrock Antique Show Brenda -Ann Snell from Exeter, digs up some artifacts at the Shamrock Antique show held in Lucan over the week- end. Hay Days hockey game There was a full house at the Hay Days Old Timers hockey match be tween Hensall and Zurich Oldtim ers last Saturday night at the Hen sail Arena. The evening started off with the Hensall minor hockey tyke exhibi- tion. Two members from the Zurich Figure skating Club, Krista Schilbe and Sarah -Rae Lovie entertained the audience during the second and third 20 minute periods. Poultry convention Abe and Connie DeMooy and Ron and Sharen Schroeder were among those who attended the Poultry Convention in Toronto last week. Bean Festival meeting The Zurich Bean Festival Com- mittee will be holding their next meeting tonight, March 27, at the Public School in the teacher's lounge beginning at 7:30 p.m. Ptes- ident is Jody. Society held their last Fair Board meeting at the Township Hall on March 21. New president John Becker chaired the meeting. Secretary/ treasurer Margaret Deichert read the minutes of the last meeting and gave the financial report. Personals Harold and Lucille Vincent returned home last week after spending the past two months in Florida. While there they visited daughter Lori and son-in-law Kevin Brown. Congratulations to Annie Zielman on the arrival of her fourteenth grand- child, when a baby boy weighing 9 lbs. 7 oz. was .born March 15 to her daughter Angie and husband Mark Dousfield of Belmont. . David and Julie Rader rind•son Russell of Simcoe area visited a couple of weeks ago with Russell's grandparents Earl and June Rader. Recent out of area -visitors with Hugh and Annie Morenz have been her sister and husband, Mary and Art Finlayson, Seaforth, cousin Donald Jackson, of Hensall area and Bill Carr of London.
