Seniors Bonspiel sponsored by the Clinton Community Credit union. Winners of the 9
a.m. draw was the rink skipped by Bob Hart from London, and the winners of the 11 a.m.
draw was the rink skipped by Alvin Ahrens from Stratford. Exeter rink skipped by Elmer
Powe placed 2nd in the first draw and Exeter rink skipped .by.John Deweerd placed 4th in
the second draw. .

Morgan's rink takes 'A' title
in Curling Club Challenge
EXETER - The Exeter Curling
Club Challenge League playoff
bonspiel was held Thursday night
and Saturday at the Exeter Curling
Club.
The bonspiel consisted of an "A"
draw involving the top eight teams
from a 19 game regular season
schedule. Twenty teams participate
with the top 16 teams qualifying
for the playoffs, including a "B"
draw involving the ninth through
16th place teams.
In the "A" draw, Scot Morgan's
rink with vice John Coleman, 2nd
Richard Miller and lead Sam Regi-
er, scored three points in the final
end to knock off defending cham-
pion Doug Webber 5-4 in the
championship game.
John Smits, whose rink was the
overall regular season winner, and
who will organize the 1996-97
schedule and playoffs, finished
third. In the "B" draw, Ralph As-
tle's rink which finished 14th over-
all in the regular season, upset Lar-
ry Shapton 6-5 for the win, while
John McNeilly cdged Phil Turner
by half a point to finish third.
Tournament organizers, Gerald
McBride and the entire member-
ship of the Exeter Curling Club
credit the many sponsors for pro-

make this bonspiel a success.
