Roberta Templeman STAFFA - Pat and Joanne Dono- van, Mathew and Kelly, Val D'or, Quebec, visited for a few days with John and Roberta Templeman and family. Representing Staffa Women's In- stitute at the Perth South District executive meeting at Carlingford on Thursday were, President Joyce Miller and program co-ordinator, Roberta Templeman. A good dis- cussion was held on restructuring, with each of the eleven branches voicing their opinions. Plans are well underway for the District An- nual on Monday, May 13, at Main Street United Church Mitchell with Goulds Women's Institute hosting. Celebration of communion was held at Cromarty Presbyterian Church on Sunday with Rev. Kevin Steeper in charge. The Sunday Schools of Hibbert and Cromarty have rented the ice at Exeter Arena on March 20, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Following the skating everyone is to return to Cromarty Church for snacks. Bluewater team wins Florida trip Ronbann ZURICH - A Bluewater Five Pin Bowlers' Association Zone "T" Hiram Walker Special Old team of Eric Haldenby and Fritz Schlegel, from the Lucknow Association, fin- ished second in the Special Old Provincial High -low doubles finals at Hamilton. As a result they each won an expense paid trip to Florida and a three piece luggage set. They now advance to the Black Tower Regional rolloff April 14 at a Onta- rio Five Pin Bowlers' Association designated site leading to the Black tower Provincial final May 11 at Welland. Zurich Y.B.C. Bantam girls finish second The Town and Country bantam (age 10 and under as of last Decem- ber 31) girls team of Leanne Shanks, Ashlee Littlechild, Jenna McKinnon, Anita Klaasen and Jac- qui Rader, coached by Zurich Asso- ciation's Jean Dann, took second place just 94 pins behind Goderich at the Bluewater Youth Bowling Council Four Steps Zone Finals Sunday at Owen Sound. They scored 313 pins above their team average in a top effort to advance to the Provincial Y.B.C. Champion- ships in Ottawa. Town and Country's bantam boys team and junior boys teams finished 5th and the senior boys team was 4th. Zurich National classified teams finish second Town and Country's ladies team of Maxine Miller, Marilyn Ben- gough, Donna Webster, Shelly Hay and Trudy Rooseboom finished second in the National Classified rolloff Sunday at the lanes, just 55 pins behind 1st place St. Marys. Town and Country's mens team of Bob Reynolds, Ted Stanlake, Ken Kadey, Mike Cregan and Don Kirk also finished 2nd, just 92 pins behind 1st place Goderich, at St. Marys lanes. Master Bowlers Pro -Am Fifty bowlers will compete in a three game, pins over average, roll- off Sunday at 10:30 and 2 p.m. for the right to bowl with a Master Bowler in the M.B.A. Provincial Pro -Am for a chance at $20,000 to the winning Provincial team. Tuesday Mens League Ramblers - Tony Bedard 754, Hen - Public school students show karaoke machine HENSALL - Queensway volun- teer Auxiliary met Monday morn- ing and enjoyed an interesting talk by Marg Cole on the sessions she attended at the Ontario Nursing Home Convention 'in Toronto. Volunteers also put up a beautiful Baby quilt in the Activity room. Volunteer quitters are always wel- come. Tuesday residents said farewell to pastor Henry VanEssen who has led services at Queensway for more than twenty years. After His Wor- ship service, refreshments were served and residents enjoyed visit- ing with Rev. and Mrs. Van Essen. Hensall Public school students under the direction of Peter Snell demonstrated their Karaoke ma- chine for residents Thursday after- noon. This was purchased with funds raised by Student Council. Residents found it fascinating and very entertaining. A really fun way to learn new music. We are excited about our Intergenerational Choir and are looking forward to the June Assembly at the Hensall Public School. Winnie Hutton, Pastoral Care Volunteer was in to minister to resi- dents on Thursday. They were pleased to see her after a months ab- sence. The Christian Reform Youth group from Exeter provided lots of assistance and good company, Thursday evening at Games Night. `Residents and youth played Eu- chre, Scrabble, Crokinole, and checkers. Time spent over refresh- ments and visiting completed the evening. Friday residents participated in the regular morning exercises and then attended the afternoon Video presentation "Hook" starring Robin Williams. Coming Events, March 15th 2pm.
