Parents Council organizing .auction
The auction includes a buffet and
door prizes.

VARNA - The Parents Council from Huron Centen-
nial School are planning another auction on Saturday,
April 20 at the Stanley Complex.
Tickets are available at $9 per single and this in-
cludes the auction and cold buffet following the close
of the auction and lots of door prizes. They have some
donations and would accept any more.
Tickets are available by calling the school or through
Diane McLennaghan at 233-3136 or Brenda Consitt at
565-2728.
The Varna U.C.W. attended the World Day of
Prayer at Goshen last Thursday evening. Erin Keys
and her grandmother Anna Keys played a couple of
hymns with Erin on the clarinet and Anna at the piano
to open the service. The women of Haiti prepared the
service with the theme "God Calls Us to Respond".
Geraldine Eckel showed a slide presentation on the life
and geography in Haiti.
A short meeting was held after with thank you notes
read from Camp Menesetung and Leprosy Missions: A
thank you note was sent from the families of the Late
Flora Dowson.
Registration forms are available for Camp Menese-
tung. Marg Hayter and Joyce Dowson attended the An-
nual Meeting at the Ontario Street United Church in
Clinton. Westminster Weekend will be on May 31,
June 1 and 2.
A letter was sent from the adopted child, Christine
Grierson, from Dr. Graham Homes, thanking them for
her gift of money at Christmas which helped her buy a
new dress and track shoes.
It was also announced that there will be a Menese-
tung Musical at 7 p.m. on April 14 at Wesley Willis
United Church in Clinton. A11 proceeds will go to
Camp Menesetung. Saturday, May 4 will be the day
for the work bee at Camp Menesetung.
A donation was given to the Huron -Perth Presbytery
Visitation Hospital Fund. A life membership was pre-
sented to Sharon Chuter by Joyce Dowson and Bernice
Reid.
There will be no April meeting. The May meeting
will feature Jesse Davidson's mother. Further details
will follow.
This Saturday, March 9 the Stanley Township Rec
Committee are sponsoring a Family Fun Dance from 8
to 11 p.m. Hot dogs will be supplied. Please bring fin-
ger desserts. The charge will be $10 per family and $5
per single. This will be held at the Complex.
The March 10 combined Varna -Goshen church ser-
vice will be held in Varna on March 10 with Rev. Wil-
lie Zieglerkjt at 10:30 a.m.
There will be an Official Board meeting at Goshen at
8 p.m. on Monday, March 11. A congregational meet-
ing will follow on March 17 after church at Goshen.
I will be away for two weeks. Anyone with commu-
nity news can call the Times Advocate.

Many visitors to Blue
Water Rest Home
ZURICH - Tuesday evening the
residents of Blue Water Rest Home
enjoyed the entertainment provided
by the Christian Reformed Church
members from Exeter under the di-
rection of Peter Visscher. Willy
Visscher read a poem entitled
"Kopp A Prayer for Your Heart,"
Joyce Pepper was pianist for the
singing of hymns such as "Teach
Me, 0 Lord. Thy Way of Truth;
Lead Me, Guide Me; Blessed Assu-
rance." Shelley Bender, NA and
Loreen Devine served refreshments.
Rev. Daniel Roushorne, Caven/
Carmel Presbyterian Church, Hen-
sall/Exeter conducted Thursday af-
ternoon chapel service. Fr. Matthias
Wronski, St. Boniface Church cele-
brated Mass.
Thursday evening members of
Zurich Mennonite Church Youth
Club visited the home under the
leadership of Linda Hendrick, Ruth
Oesch, Angela Clausius and Moni-
ca Gingerich. Marsha and Brenda
Melick, Pam Hamilton, Ashley Lit-
tlechild, Randa Lee Clausius, Lacey
Deichert, Alicia Pennings, Megan
Gingerich, Lindsey Oesch, Kendra
Beard, Jocelyn Cressman, Savanna
Stoneman, Pam Meidinger, Mi-
chelle Denomme and Courtney
Overholt sang songs with the assis-
tance of pianist Monica Gingerich.
Poems were read and funny jokes
were told by the group. Each young
woman gave residents a lacy heart
for their room. A variety of fancy
loaves and fruit trays were served to
the residents by Cathy Shantz and
Vera Thiel thanked the group for
their visit.
The residents will be kept busy
watching videos loaned to the
home by Emma and Robert Man-
son. Videos produced by Readers'
Digest on Great National Parks; for
example Grand Canyon, Yellow-
stone and Yosemite; the British
Isles Collection of Touring Ireland,
Scotland and England, and Fiddler
on the Roof.

Church visit and afternoon tea on

from hospital and are back in the
