On March 1 and 2, 50 students at South Huron will be going with-
out food for 30 hours. This year the 30 -hour Famine is being orga-
nized by two teachers; Mr. McLeod and Ms. Weaver. The Famine
starts at noon on Friday and concludes at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The purpose of this event is to raise money to help third world
countries. By simply going without food for 30 hours the participat-
ing students will be helping the war against hunger.
The students are sleeping over at the school on Friday night.
Don't worry, themwill be plenty of adult supervisloa." he activities
planned for the weekend are movie watching, sports, board games
and hopefully if the weather cooperates an outdoor activity.
On Saturday for their first meal in 30 hours New Orleans pizza
will be donating plenty of pizza to fill their empty stomachs. Also
many stores in the area have donated drinks for the students. Thanks
for your support..
To all the participants, good work and have a great time this week-
end.
Upcoming events
February 28.:Seitual Assault Awareness Assembly; March 1 and
2,30 -Hour Famine; March 8, Talent Assembly; March 11-22,
