THAMES ROAD - The church
service on Sunday morning in
Thames Road Church opened with
the singing of the Doxology. The
service was conducted by Rev. Jim
Allsop.
The Responsive Reading was tak-
en from the service book "A Light
to my Path" from Psalms 119, 117.
The choir sang "Did You Stop to
Pray This Morning" accompanied
by organist Jean 1.1 eft.
The congregation sang the chil-
dren's hymn "Can a Little Child
Like Me" and Rev. Allsop told the
children about "Peter, James and
John on the Mount of Transfigura-
tion."
The scripture lesson from Exodus
24:12-18 and I1 Peter 1:16-21 was
read by Anne Bray.
Rev. Allsop read from Matthew
17:1-9 and the title of his sermon
was "To Touch the Holiness". The
closing hymn was "My Shepherd is
the Living Lord" and Rev. Allsop
pronounced the benediction.
Upcoming
On Wednesday, February 21 at
9:00 p.m. a Christian Education
meeting will be held at Elimville
Church. All representatives from
Sunday School, Session, U.C.W.,
mid -week group leaders, minister
and any interested members are to
be in attendance.
On Friday, March 1 at 2 p.m.
Thames Road women are the host-
esses for the World Day of Prayer
service with women from all the
church in Exeter as their guests.
On Monday, March 4 at 8 p.m.
Students present program
HENSALL - Kippen United Church Women provided assistance and
prizes at the bingo games at Queensway Nursing Home in Hensall on
Monday afternoon. Residents enjoyed the special Valentine treats the
women brought with them.
Tuesday morning Breakfast Club members feasted on the own version
of the famous egg, sausage and cheese McMuffin.
Rev. Roushorne led a meaningful worship service Tuesday afternoon.
He sang special music and accompanied himself on the guitar. Residents
were happy to have him teach them a new chorus.
Valentines day was made special by an evening program with Kim Red-
dick's voice students. They gave a presentation of love songs, ranging
from "Love is a Song", "When I Fall in Love", "Close to You", to "My
Funny Valentine." Following the program, students, parents and residents
enjoyed a time of refreshments and visiting.
The Hensall Beaver Pack with leaders Sandra Consitt and Karen Camp-
bell played bingo with the residents Thursday evening. The term Eager
Beavers certainly applies to the Hensall Pack.
The Friday Baking Group turned out some delicious cheese scones and
raisin scones. Several taste tests took place as everyone tried to decide
which they preferred.

On Thursday, March 7 at 9:30
a.m. the Sunbeams group will meet
at Thames Road.

Confirmation class should contact
Rev. Jim Allsop. Confirmation
classes will be held for one week-
end at Five Oaks, near Paris, Onta-
rio, from March 29 to 31, at a cost
of $79.20 per person. For more in-

SAINTSBURY - St. Patrick's
Holy Communion Service was held
the last Sunday after the Epiphany,
February 18 at 10:30 a.m. with
Rev. Stanley Jay as officient. The
Processional Hymn was "Joyful
Joyful we adore Thee". The chil-
drens focus was led by Liz Jay it is
to go the extra mile and help make
love grow or it will wither and die.
"Love one another". Childrens
hymn was "What a Friend We
Have in Jesus", prior to going to
their classes.
Suzanne Davis read the scripture
lesson from the Old Testament
Isaiah 49: 8-13, Hugh Davis read
the scripture lesson from the New
Testament, 1 Corinthians 3: 10-11,
16-23. Responsive reading Psalm
62: 6-14, The Holy Gospel Mat-
thew 5: 27-37. Rev. Jay's message
was based on the readings and the
Holy Gospel "We are all God's
Temple."
Sunday School children were
welcomed in sharing the Peace
with the congregation. Following
the Celebration of The Eucharist
and Blessings the service closed
with the Epiphany hymn. "Songs of
Thankfulness and Praise". Crystal
Davis was server for the service,
The children and several of the
adults enjoyed the study period of
Life in the Eucharist following the
church service.
St. Patrick's Sunday School chil-
dren, parents and leaders met again
this past week to study life in the
Eucharist. There will be no classes
this week as A Faith Day celebrat-
ing Ash Wednesday will be held at
St. James Church, Stratford and St.
Patrick's children are planning to
attend.
