February is Heart and Stroke Month. Re-
search into this #1 killer of Canadians is on-
going. Your donation will help find a cure and
could result in helping you in the future. Give
generously.
When you get a nasty bum, remember to cool the area right
away. Damage will continue to be done to your skin until you
can lower the temperature of the burnt area. Immerse the area
in cold water. This reduces the pain, tool
Startling statistics: In 1970, there were almost 19 divorces out
of 100 Canadian marriages. In 1990, the number more than
doubled to 39. In the U.S., the percentages were 42.3% in
1970 and 54.8% in 1990. Amazing but true.
Drinking alcohol to subdue a cold is not good advice. Alcohol
suppresses the immune system which you need to strengthen
during times of illness. Also, alcohol itself is a drug and can be
a bad mix with other actual cold remedies. So forget the alco-
hol, but drink lots of water and juices while you have the cold.
