Ulch continued, "Business in the month of January just concluded was very good. In comparison, last year at this time it was a disaster." Russel - dale Farm Equipment has been operated by Bob Ulch since 1966 and car- ries a full line of Massey Ferguson tractors and combines, White New Idea planters, tillage equipment and manure spreaders. Also in stock are Kongskilde plows and cultivators, Massey Ferguson garden and lawn equipment and a new line of Marliss drills. Two new tractor series have been added to the Massey Ferguson line and they are both award winners. The new MF 6100 and MF 8100 high- performance tractor series, from 86 to 180 PTO horsepower, received the 1995 OFiMmie Award for innovative design and performance at the annu- al Society of Automotive Engineers Off -Highway conference. These two new series of tractors were selected for their innovative fea- tures and functions that set them apart from others in North America, and for advancing the state of the art and increasing equipment peformance. The award was sponsored by OEM Off -Highway magazine published by Johnson Hill Press. "These new tractor ranges have taken the lead in the emerging competi- tive battle for increased power efficiency," says Bob UM, "and this was one of the key factors in earning the award" The new MF 6100 and MF 8100 series tractors are designed to mini- mize power losses through the transmission and deliver up to 90 percent of their horsepower to the wheels and PTO," explained Ulch. "With more engine power available as useable power, everyday tractor operations are more productive and efficient" These new tractors offer a choice of horsepowers and two or four wheel drive to meet the requirements of a wide range of applications and types of farms. All models feature a synchronized shuttle transmission, new extra large wet clutch, new 55 degree steering 4WD front axle, new electronic link- age control with transport control to cushion three-point implement "bounce" in transport, new Quiet View cabs, and new autronic and data- tronic electronic performance monitoring and information systems.
