GRAND BEND - The response
to the White gift collection the past
two weekends at Immaculate Heart
of Mary Church, Grand Bend have
been overwhelming. In these hard
times, it is heart-warming to see the
generosity of parishioners to the
needy and unfortunate in our com-
munity, with donations of food and
gifts.
The parish gathered to celebrate
their pastor's birthday after the 11
a.m. Mass on Sunday. A group of
children, directed by Josie Britton,
played on chimes and sang carols
and "Happy Birthday" to Father
Paul Beck. A huge Dutch cake was
served and Father Beck was pre-
sented with a season's subscription
to the Stratford Festival from the
Catholic Women's League.
The C.W.L. Christmas party was
celebrated on Monday evening and
the Christmas Ecumenical was
scheduled for December 12, Tues-
day, at the Dashwood United
