Workshop to be officially opened Saturday
A ribbon -cutting cere-
mony is planned.

ZURICH - The official opening
of the new maintenance workshop
behind the Municipal office is set
for Saturday, December 2 from 2 to
4 p.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony
begins at 2:00 with speakers being
Zurich Reeve Dwayne LaPorte,
Paul Steckle and Helen Johns. Cof-
fee and donuts will be available.
Girl's Club
The Girls Club met at the Men-
nonite Church Iasi Thursday night
and enjoyed fellowship together
while making of a Christmas craft.
Their next meeting will he De-
cember 7 at 7:30 p.m. with Bonnie
Schenk showing the group the art
of rubber stamping. •
Blue Water Rest Home
The annual family Christmas din-
ner for the residents at the Blue
Water Rest Home will he held Sun-
day. December 3, which begins
with entertainment in the lounge at
3 p.m.
Members of the Ladies Auxiliary
helped to decorate the Christmas
trees throughout the home in prep-
aration of the holiday season.

A reminder to members of the
Women's Institute that their De-
cember meeting will he held on
Monday, December 4 with dinner
at noon at the Dominion Tavern.
The women are asked to bring the
quilt tickets for the draw.
Senior Diners
Fitly -two Zurich Senior Diners
enjoyed a delicious beef dinner No-
vember 22 at the Community Cen-
tre which was decorated in silver,
pink and white for the diners sixth
anniversary. Cake and ice cream
was enjoyed by the diners. Susan
Gynane was the 50/50 winner.
Guest speaker Sally Lawton, Wing -
ham, was unable to attend due to
weather conditions. Toe -tapping
music was provided by Zurich
Connections, Lloyd and Helen 01-
tcrbein, Eleanor and Art Horst,
Sealorth. Card games followed.
Eighteen Golden Age Bowlers
met Thursday afternoon November
23 at the Zurich bowling Lanes for
'their annual Christmas dinner. Priz-
es were given to Ladies High bowl-
ing Elaine Weido and Mary Fick -
ling (tied). Low Catherine Masse,
Men's high Bob Fickling: Low.
Harvey Hohncr. Gerrie Flcischauer
conducted a Merry Christmas con-
test which was won by Mary Ja-
cobc. Gladys Martin won the door
prize. Lucky .chair winners were
Mary Fickling and Glenn Wcido. A
• beef dinner and all the trimmings
was served by Marlene and Tony
Bedard.

and Dashwood are being trans-
formed into a winter wonderland
just in time for the "Hay Lights of
Christmas" displays. Families arc
decorating their homes and busi-
nesses with Christmas lights to

Calls arc already starting to come
in for the bus tours to view the dis-
plays. Pick up locations. dates and
times will depend on demand. The
bus route will depend on display
locations.

Personals
Brothers Jamie and Chad Ramer,
sons of Jim and Phyllis, are pres-
ently attending Brier Crest College
in Saskatchewan since September.
The boys play on a hockey min-
istries team which will be taking
them to Sweden from December 10
to 24.
They plan to he home for Christ-
mas to visit with parents, friends
and relatives at their new home in
town.
Correction: I recently stated that
Tyler Layne Creces was baptized at
St. Boniface Church. He is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Darren Creces of
Kincardine and grandson of Helen
Creces of Zurich.
Karl and Helen Haberer celebrat-
ed their 60th wedding anniversary
with family, friends and relatives at
a parish dinner at St. Peter's Lu-
theran church on November 18 in
the Fellowship Hall.
A open house was held for -Percy
Bedard Sr. on Sunday afternoon at
St. Boniface parish hall with a
good turnout of many friends and
relatives. It was arranged by his
children and their spouses. His tint
sisters attended. A family dinner
was held afterwards at the hall.
Several relatives from the • area
recently attended the funeral of
June Denomme in the United
States. She was a sister-in-law of
Louis Denomine and Mrs. Warren
Asmus.
Margy Hartman and Mark War-
dell were married at St. Boniface
Church by Fr. Wronski on Novem-
ber 25 with dinner and a reception
held at the Zurich Community Cen-
tre. The bride is the daughter of
Ray and Janice Hartman.
