grance helped claustrophobic people feel better
about being in a small, closed -In area. Those with
agoraphobia (fear of open places) were helped by
a smoked barbeque smell.

HANDLING THE HOLIDAYS #
(Ivmm 4.fiat 3e bk,_,,,,tl tbdatrnes by D BW Webeter)
There is aiwey3 pressure around Christmas. Baking,
shopping. gilt wrapping. parties; these and a
thousand other tasks and activities add to the stress
of the season. We should askourselves two
questions: •How much can I dor end "What do 1
WANT to do?" Your needs are Important now. Other
Christmas's you . may have spent all your time
thinking of the needs and expectations of others.
This year. acknowledge your limitations and do what
YOU want. Leave the word -ought" right out of your
holiday. Figure out what you SHOULD do, compare it
to what you feel ABLE to do, and then find an
acceptable balance. If you decide to try to shop try
shopping on "good days'. The presence of a friend
may be a help and comfort in many ways, such as
with decisions, or assisting you if you meet someone
in the mall who doesn't know about the death. Shop
early to avoid the crowds or the music, or the 'Merry
Christmas" greetings which can be difficult.
Catalogues or gift certificates can also be useful if
you feel that glfts are a priority this year
