an exchanged wedding vows
on September 23, 1995 at
Hensall United Church. Rev.
Henry Annen officiated. Cheryl
is the daughter of Robert and
Gail Turner and Darryl is the
son of Bill and Wendy Rowan.
The matron of honour was Ju-
lie Hohner, friend of the bride.
The bridesmaids were Jann
Van Massenhoven and Lisa
Faber, friends of t1,e bride,
• Deana Morrissey, cousin of
the bride, Dana Rowan and
Melissa Rowan, sisters of the
groom. The best man, was
Mark Watson, friend of the
groom. The groomsmen were
Trevor Lansbergen and Brian
McLeod, friends of the groom,
Ralph Mathonia, uncle of the
groom, Jonathan Turner,
brother of the bride and Jere-
my Rowan, brother of the
groom. Guests were ushered
by Jason and Jeff Turner,
brothers of the bride. A recep-
tion was held at the Hensall
Community Centre. The
couple enjoyed a honeymoon
in Las Vegas and now reside
in Hensall.

Thames Road UCW hold silent auction
The proceeds will go
to Missions and Ser-
vice work.

THAMES ROAD - The Novem-
ber meeting of the U.C.W. was
held on Monday evening with 24
women present. The meeting table
was covered with the U.C.W. table-
cloth, a cross and poppies.
Sharon Passmore welcomed eve-
ryone and gave the theme "Mission
and Service and Remembrance".
She read a poem on Mission and
Service. The group sang "For the
Healing of the Nations". Marion
Cann led in prayer and read the
scripture Isaiah 40:3-5.
A skit "Oversea Mission" was
presented with Lorraine Alexander,
Sharon Passmore and Virginia
Warwick taking part.
The offering was received by
Marion Cann and Lorraine Alexan-
der with Sharon Passmore giving
the offertory prayer.
A poem "Why Wear a Poppy?"
was read by Lorraine Alexander
and the group sang "Onward Chris-
tian Soldiers".
Virginia Warwick did an interest-
ing demonstration of making
Christmas trees for candle holders.
President Margaret Stewart
opened the business part of the
meeting with a poem "A Smile".
The roll call, minutes and cards
of thanks were read.
Marilyn Pym gave the treasurer's
report; Beatrice Dawson gave the
Board of Managers report and Pat
Ballantyne gave the M&S report.
A Silent Auction was held with
proceeds going to the M&S fund
over and above the U.C.W.'s allo-
cation. It was decided to continue
ordering from Regal.
Marion Cann read the Steward-
ship and Finance report, Helen
Webber gave the Church in Society
report, Laurel Miner gave the
World Outreach report, Rhoda
Rohde gave the Communications
Co-ordinator report.

Sandra Lee Bell and Jeffery
Keith Henderson were united
in marriage September 16,
1995 at Northside United
Church, Seaforth. Rev. Bruce
Cook officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Jack and Tove Bell, Exeter
and the groom is the son of
Bill and Joyce Henderson, Eg-
mondville. The matron of hon-
or was Shanna Core of Sea -
forth, friend of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Jackie Bell
of Vancouver, Vicky Morrison
of Lucknow and Pam Bell of
Exeter all sisters of the bride.
Flowergirl was Amy Schranz of
Oakville, niece of the groom.
The bestman was Bill Dale of
Seaforth, friend of the groom.
Groomsmen were Greg Core
of Seaforth, friend of the
groom, Bruce Henderson of
Seaforth, brother of the
groom and Brad Gowan of
Seaforth, friend of the groom.
Ringbearer was Joshua
Schranz of Oakville, nephew
of the groom. Readers during
the ceremony were Dave and
Cathy Garrick of Seaforth,
friends of the bride and
groom. Organist was Margaret
Whitmore and the soloists
were Lori and Lisa Strong.
The newlywed couple are re-
siding at 72 London Rd., Eg-
mondville.

Brock - Ford
On June 10, 1995, Lesley
Ford, daughter of Don and
Margo Ford, Ottawa and Tim
Brock, son of Dave and Dean-
na Brock, Staffa were united
in marriage at Dominion -
Chalmers United Church in Ot-
tawa. Tim and Lesley are re-
siding in Peterborough.
Diane Jeffery gave the Christian
Leadership and Development re-
port, and June Stewart gave the
Nomination Committee report.
The group sang "All People That
on Earth" and Margaret Stewart
closed with a Benediction.
Lunch was served by Group C
which brought a busy evening to a
close.

Church service
The Remembrance Day church
service on Sunday was in charge of
Rev. Jim Allsop. The responsive
reading was "The Eyes of All Look
to God", Psalm 145.
The choir sang "0 Blessed Christ
of Peace" accompanied by organist
Marilyn Vandenbussche. They
sang the children's hymn "Teach
Mc, God to Wonder" and Rev. All-
sup told the children a story about
Remembrance Day and the Mon-
arch butterfly.
The scripture lesson I Corinthi-
an. 15:51-58; John 15:12-13 was
read by Rev. Allsop and Marilyn
Vandenbussche played "The Last
Post" on the organ.
The group stood for a minute of
silence in honor of Remembrance
Day. Sharon Passmore recited "In
Flanders Fields".
Rev. Allsop read Gospel of Luke
20:27-38. The title of his sermon
was "What's Next". The closing
hymn was "Mine Eyes have Seen
The Glory"

The service will begin at 7:30 p.m.

time will be held afterwards. Prac-
tice will be held November 19 at
7:30 p.m. at Thames Road Church.
