EXETER - The Exeter Hawks
kicked off their regular season with
back to back wins beating Mitchell
4-3 Saturday and Burford 7-3 Fri-
day.
The game against rival Mitchell
proved to be close, and could have
gone either way. The shots on goal
were 27 to 26 for Mitchell, but Sean
McCann's late second period goal
left Exeter with the extra point on
the scoreboard when it was over.
Exeter trailed by a goal going into
the second period with Ryan Cham-
ney scoring the single goal assisted
by Mark Bell. Exeter was out shot
in the second period but managed
to score on three out of their four
chances with goals by Mark Liver-
more, Joe MacDonald and McCann.
The trio were assisted by Steve
Farquhar, Brian Gardner, Nathan
Burns, Shayne Robinson and Chris
Kennedy who also assisted
McCann on the deciding goal for
EAeter.

the regular season got underway.
"They were a bit scranibly and
that's going to happen this early in
the year but we've seen some good
things both on offense and de-
fense," he said.
Defense is a priority this year for
the Hawks and Dalrymple said
they can use some fine-tuning in
that department.
"Our zone defense system wasn't
all there tonight hut that's some-
thing we will correct for the next
game."
The home opening victory could
provide the Hawks with a tre-
mendous boost as both of .their next
games will he at home and two
more wins would propel them into
a four game ss inning streak.
"We're off to a good start. It's al-
