marriages
NEW HAMPSHIRE - The 1996
edition of The Old Farmers Alma-
nac offers some marriage advice
this year - move to a town with a
major-
league
baseball
team
and
your
marriage
will last.
The publication cites statistics
which show cities with major-
league ball clubs have a divorce
rate 23 percent lower than cities
without teams.
The Old Farmer's Almanac is
North America's oldest continuous-
ly published periodical and is most
commonly known for its weather
predictions.

Pee wees are consolation round winners
EXETER - The Exeter Legion 167 Peewees were
WOBA consolation round winners during a tourna-
ment in the last weekend of August. Led by coach
Dave Atthill, assistant coach Albert VanDyken and
Manager Bob Bilinsky the Peewees beat Lucknow 14-
6 and Flesherton 16-15 on August 26 before defeating
Goderich 14-2 and Flesherton again 5-3.
A combination of strong hitting and good pitching
and catching was the successful formula that allowed
the Peewees to emerge from the tournament undefeat-
ed.
