Mr. and Mrs. Morrissey now reside in Kitchener. Simpson - McCarter On August 26, 1995, Diane Lynn McCarter and Darren Lyle Si`pson were united in marriage at Exeter United Church by Rev. Rick'furst. La- verne and Marion 'McCarter are the bride's parents. Lloyd Simpson and Marie Urquhart are parents of the groom. The maid of honor was Sandra Stire. Bridesmaids were De- anna Underwood, Cheryl McCarter, Teresa Hendriks. The best man was Troy Robin- son. Guests were ushered by Darryl Simpson, Doug Simp- son and Dwayne Coolman. Following a honeymoon in Ja- maica, the happy couple re- side in Exeter. Rev. Cordell Parsons of- ficiated the event. Cathy is the daughter of Jean Fleming of Mt. Carmel and the late Greg Fleming. Claude is the son of Marie -Rose Brochu of La Croche, Quebec and the late Marcel Frenette. The maid of honour was Monique Ahinger of Georgetown anti the best man was Yvon Dage- nais of London. The ringbear- ers were Alison McLachlan, daughter of the bride and Adam Frenette, son of the groom. The flowergirl was Na- tasha Frenette, daughter of the groom. The couple is re- siding in Exeter. Prouty - Lockyer The Exeter Pentecostal Church was the setting for the Romantic Garden Wed- ding of Christa Prouty and Jonathan Lockyer on August 12, 1995. They are the chil- dren of Dave and Beth Prouty, Exeter and John and Dawn Lockyer, of London. Sally Prouty, sister of the bride was Maid of Honor and the brides- maids were Paula Brown, Keri -Beth Lockyer and Laura Freebairn. Kimberly Steward - son was the beautiful little flowergirl. David Richardson, friend of the groom was Best Man and the groomsmen were Steven Lockyer, Michael Willms and Paul Schaffner. Peter Baldwin, St. George's Anglican Church, Goderich conducted Thursday afternoon Chapel Service at Blue Water Rest Home. Fr. Matthias Wronski, St. Boniface Church, Zurich celebrated Mass. Rev. Gani 1 a7aro, Zurich United Church postponed Bible Study until Tuesday, September 19, 1995. Thursday afternoon the residents of BWRH and apartment tenants got all dressed up to attend the Grand Cove Players "Mainly Comedy" produc- tion at the Grand Cove Club House. Seventeen residents, Rt 3y Bell, Beu- lah Desjardine, Ruby Fulcher, Kurt Gebel, Connie Graham, Esther Ma- kins, Rose Merner, Orville Witmer, Dorothy Bapty, Marcella Dietrich, Vivian Fremlin, Clara Hamilton, Edna Johnston, Pearl Miller, Vera Thiel, Ruby Hoggarth and Ted Steinbach took the wheelchair bus and van to Grand Bend to see the big show. Jean Burr joined her husband Bill and 23 apartment tenants from Maplewoods Apartments and Blue Water Rest Home Apartments to take in the activities. Josef Risi, Administrator, Ervin Steinmann, maintenance person and Ann McBride, hobby room convener chaperoned the residents for the afternoon. Ron Crown managed to orga- nize all the local rest homes to attend the dress rehearsal and the cast and crew put on a first rate show for all in attendance. There were those who laughed long and hard, and those that thought perhaps they should not. A welcome home to Wilfred Corriveau who has been at St. Joseph's Hospital, London. The residents look forward to their September birthday party with Hen- sall United Church on September 25, their School Day celebrations with their St. Boniface Buddies on September 26, afternoon tea on September 27 and National Honey Day September 29. United church At the Granton United Church on Sunday, September 17 Pastor Nor- malie Voakes entitled her sermon "Our Persistent and Insistent God' based on the lessons from Jeremiah 4, I Timothy 1 and Luke 15. Dylan Frederick Jones, son of Catherine (Riddell) and Michael Jones was welcomed into the fami- ly of God through baptism. Dylan's sister Taylor Jones assisted in pre- paring the baptismal font. The choir sang 'Children of the heavenly Father' following the christening. At St. Paul's Anglican Church in Kirkton on Sunday, September 17 the Rev. Wm. Townshend of St. Thomas led the service of Holy Communion and his message was about being a Christian until it hurts. UC W Unit two of the U.C.W. Alec at Judy O'Neil's home in Lucan on Monday evening, September 11. President Nancy Mills led the busi- ness when some new ideas were discussed for the bazaar and a poor boy luncheon for Remembrance Day Sunday. O'Neil was in charge of the pro- gram when shetold of her work at Changing Ways which is a men's rehabilitation program in London. President Margaret Spence opened with a poem Home Meas- ure and gave the meditation 'Crea- tion Lord' based on readings from Genesis and Matthew. The hymn 'All things bright and beautiful' was read followed by prayer. Florence McRobert convened the program reading an article about 'The peace to start the blessing of work,' also poems entitled 'There may be nothing wrong with you,' 'Rural Matters', and 'How True'. The meeting came to a close with the Lord's Prayer in unison.
