Good attendance at Decoration Service
EXETER - The annual Decoration Day service at the
Exeter Public Cemetery Sunday attracted the largest
crowd in many years.
Before an estimated throng of 250, the Exeter Legion
held a wreath laying ceremony and the Memorial Tree
program was dedicated.
Trees were planted in memory of Jerome Dietrich,
Harry DeVries, Elmore McBride, Harvey Pfaff, Reg
McDonald, Norman Waiper and departed sisters and

Weigand - Tryon
On July 29, 1995, Traci Lynn
Tryon and Daniel James Wei-
gand were wed in an intimate
ceremony at Calvary United
Church in Dashwood, in front
of close family and friends.
The Reverend lsagani Lazaro
officiated. Proud parents are
George and Sandra Tryon and
James and Eleanor Weigand.
The wedding party included,
Lisa Den Otter (matron of
honor), Tiffany Tryon (brides-
maid), Rob Hoffman (best
man) and Chris Weigand (ush-
er). A special thanks to Terra
Ahrens, Anmarie Hoffman, An-
drew and Rebekah Prout,
• Amanda and Jennifer Wei-
gand and Deb and Stu Ho-
muth. The bride was toasted
by her uncle, Greg Prout. Fol-
lowing a great reception at
the Kirkton-Woodham Commu-
nity Centre, the couple honey-
mooned at the Deerhurst Re-
sort in Huntsville. They now
reside in Brussels, Belgium.

Queensway
residents
enjoy
weather
HENSALL - The residents of
Queensway had a beautiful week
to enjoy the outdoors, with lovely
weather and gentle breezes ena-
bling them to make full use of the
lawn furniture.
Games, singing and exercises are
enjoyed most mornings with time
for reading or visiting in the after-
noon.
This week Rev. Van Essen led
the worship service which was
much enjoyed by all who attended,
The Hensall Playground children
visited Thursday afternoon singing
their favorite songs and recitations.
A rousing "0 Canada" was sung
which the residents love to hear.
Volunteers joined residents
Thursday evening for walks and
wheelchair rides outdoors fol-
lowed by refreshing ice cream.
Ladies hour Friday afternoon
was a perfect opportunity for tea
and discussion. It was fun to re-
view crafts enjoyed and gardening
and preserving done. Lots of
memories were shared.

Seniors.

in Clinton. August 24; Internation-
al Day featuring Scotland. August

gram is being set up
for the coating school

Tots Co-op Nursery School is ac-
cepting registrations for the 1995/
96 school year. Parents interested
in the school for their 2 1/2 to five
year-old children should register by

Tinker Tots is a co-op program.

United Church
Sharon Wurm was the guest
speaker at Hensall United Church.
Her message was "Ordinary People
or the Wonder of You". The chil-
dren's story was "One at a Time".
The ushers were George Parker and
Ross Kercher.

Recent houseguests with Mary
Roobol were Ans Koolen-Van
Dyke of Three Rivers, Quebec, and
her son Eugene Van Dyke, of Mori-
meal. Dinner guests were Ron and
Jane Gelderland, of Ridgetown.
While in Hensall, the Van Dykes
were dinner guests of Maja and
Donald Dodds, of Seaforth, and
Lynn and Ron Godkin, of RR 1
Kirkton.

Car show set for
� Sunday in Centralia
The Lion's Club sponsors the show.

CENTRALIA - On Sunday, August 20, the Lion's Club is once again
hosting a car show in Centralia at the ball park. They're looking for a wide
variety of classic, antique and hot rods to arrived between 10:00 a.m. and
5:00 p.m. Admission is free to this popular event.
Centralia U.C.W. will have their apple, cherry and raisin pies for sale at
the show. If you're helping at the baking bee, be at the church on August
19 in the morning.
Pop can tabs
Exeter Big V has been challenged by another store to collect the most
pop can tabs, and they're hoping that the community will help them with
this. There are containers for the tabs near the exit. The pop can tabs will
be used to purchase a wheelchair.
Chicken barbecue
In Crediton on Tuesday, August 22 a chicken barbecue will be held at
Crediton Zion United Church. Dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. to
7:30 p.m. The cost is $8.00 for each adult. For tickets, call 234-6278.
Decoration service
Zion West United Church will hold their Decoration Service on Sunday,
August 27 at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Bob Graham will be guest speaker and he and
his wife Ellen, will provide special music.
Euchre
At Heywoods Restaurant, there was a large turnout for euchre recently,
with 15 tables of enthusiastic players. Helen MacDonald and Percy Noels
were Lone Hand winners, while Mary Scott and Harry Noels were High
Hand winners. The Special was won by Norma Walter.

Von Overholt of Centralia attended the christening of her great-
granddaughter Nicole Hillary, daughter of Ken and Roxanne Brideau held
in St. Boniface Church in Zurich on Sunday, August 13.

EXETER - The public is in-
vited to participate in a nature
walk at Morrison Dam Aug.
22.
"We're sort of zeroing in on
what people can see at
41 this time of year,"
said Kate Monk, in-
formation and edu-
cation manager of
the Ausauble Bay-
field Conservation Authority.
Registration for the walk is
not necessary. Interested indi-
viduals are simply asked to
meet in the dam's south parking
lot at 7 p.m.
The series of nature walks,
which began with an Aug. 9
walk through Bannockburn, is
a first-time effort on behalf of
the conservation authority.
A trail walk took place at
Parkhill Conservation Area
Aug. 14 and other walks are
planned for the Clinton and
Rock Glen Conservation Areas
Aug. 31.
