Spurred on by a strong defence, the Exeter bats were working well with some well executed bunts backed up with good base running. Scott Kemp hit a double, Blake Schade hit two singles while Tre- vor Taylor, Jason Maskell, Dale Hopf, James Rolph, Joe Maskell and Darren Knits added singles. Exeter lost to Owen sound 13-4 on July 29. Dwayne McNab pitched the entire game against this hard hitting team. He had six strike outs but Owen Sound chalked up seven runs in the second inning. Exeter used Darryl Hartman, Den- nis McCann and Scot Kemp on the mound to defeat Port Elgin 8-3 on July 30. The Juveniles took advan- tage of the undisciplined Port Elgin team early in the game recording an easy victory. Bill Hodge and Hopf doubled while Knits Tripled. Ted Hoffman, McCann, Gingerich and Kemp hit singles. The Exeter Juveniles will be at home against Wyoming Thursday at 6:30 for their last league game. Next week Exeter will compete in the L.O.B.A. playoffs where they will meet Hanover in a two out of three game series. The Winner will advance to the O.B.A. playoffs in Blenheim on,August 25. Imperials wrap up regular season EXETER - The Ontario Junior Men's Fastball League season has been completed with the Exeter Chrysler Imperials finishing in sev- enth place overall. The Imperials will now compete for the "B" divi- sion championship. Considering the relatively young age of the team, with eight player still eligible to play midget, and with no players in their last year of junior eligibility, the season was a success. The Imperials will head into the playoffs where they will tangle with Mitchell in a best of five League semi-final series. A home game is scheduled at the Rec Cen- tre for August 3, at 9:00 pm. Lawn bowlers finish third LONDON - Gloria McFalls and Barb Triebner from Exeter finished in third place in "C" flight at the Western Ontario Lawn Bowling Association Tournament held in London. Ninety six teams compet- ed in the open triples event held on July 24 and 25. This was the IOOth anniversary of the tournament. Junior lawn bowlers advance EXETER - Two Exeter girls will be competing in the 1995 Provin- cial Junior Girls and Boys Lawn Bowling Championships in St: Catharines on August 5. Andrea Weigand 18, and Laura Pearson 17, earned the right to compete in the Provincials after winning their zone title in Simcoe on July 16. This will be Weigand's seventh time competing in the provincials. Her first time in 1989 was also her first year of Lawn Bowling. Fifty- six junior zone winners ranging in age from 11 to 21 will gather at the Glenridge Lawn Bowling Club to throw their best bowls. A TOUR DE FARCE!
