This year the Legion has involved all elementary schools in Canada Day festivities by hosting an art competition to illustrate a "Favorite Canadian Place". DeVries says that the event was simply meant to promote Canadian awareness of people and that it -�; 401. % did. Displayed below are the nine winners from Kindergarten to Grade 8 from different participating 4 schools in the area. First place winners received $25, and honorable mentions received $10. 1-,4‘4;;4 1.0 This event kicks off two days of family activities for Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1. The Legion is sponsoring events that will be held in and around downtown Exeter to commemorate Canada's 128th birthday. "It's an inexpensive family day," said DeVries, "The Chili Cook -off and music from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. by Positively Stompin' are new additions to the day. They should all be lots of fun," he said.
