MacNaughton Park nears
completion as donations
approach $175,000 goal
EXETER -If you havent been near MacNaughton Park in the
past couple of weeks it might be time to take another trip to see what
has been accomplished. Chairman John Stephens reports the benches
are in, the arbor has been build and the gazebo is under construction.
The latest tally for donations show a grand total $ (58,421 has
been raised. Recent donors include:

Hensall Playground
staff raise funds to
run their program
They are busy holding
barbecues and wash-
ing cars to raise mon-
ey for the summer pro-
gram

HENSALL - The Hensall Sum-
mer Playground staff of Michelle
Kinsman, Lori Gould, Jackie Mor-
gan and Melinda Hovius held two
fund-raising barbecues this past
weekend.
Both lunches were well support-
ed by the community.
The funds raised will be used for
supplies and staff training for the
program.
The barbecues were held at CIBC
- Hensall and the Hensall Co-op
Store.
Hensall Playground will be hold-
ing another hot dog barbecue on
July 7 at the Hensall CIBC.
Lunch will be available from
11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Folks can
also clean up with the playground
staff.
There will be a car wash at the
Hensall Town Hall on June 30,
from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Playground registration
Hensall and area residents who
missed the Playground registration
should know it's not too late.
Registration can be done during
regular business hours at the Town
Hall.
Details and information are avail-
able at 262-2812.
Alternate registration arrange-
ments can be made to suit sched-
ules of individuals too.
Fees can be made in installments.
United Church news
"Sharing the Load" was the
theme for the Service of Celebra-
tion at Hensall United Church.
Chuck Mallette provided music for
the ministry of song. Brandon Mar-
tin read the first scripture.
The Offering Prayer was given
by Jay Mallette, the Prayer of Ap-
proach by Kim Taylor and Charle-
sey O'Rourke read a scripture.
"This Little Light of Mine",
"Give Me Oil for my Lamp" and
several songs were sung during the
service.
Amber Preszcator and Matthew
Martin read scriptures.
The Year in Review was con-
ducted by Joanne Rowcliffe, fol-
lowed by promotions and presenta-
tions. "With God as My Guide"
and "Jesus Loves Me" were sung.
Psalm 89 was read by Elaine
Corbett and Pat Noakes.
"The Spirit of Gentleness" was
sung.
Appreciation to teachers and staff
was expressed, by Pam Mallette.
A presentation was also made to
Joanne Rowcliffe by Pam Mallette,
and Marg Cole presented Joanne
with a gift from the church. A ban-
ner was made by the children and
teacher, Susan Stoll.
A Benediction was pronounced
by Debbie Collings. The ushers for
this special day were Brandon Mar-
tin, Allen Mallette and Jean and
Raye Jacobe.
The sympathy of the community
is extended to the, family of the late
Ross Richardson.
