ucation Students' Council,
graduated on the Dean's Hon-
our List with a Bachelor of Ed-
ucation Degree on June 3,
1995. Dan completed the
PEMSTEP - Intermediate -
Senior - Biology and Chemis-
try program. This fall, Dan will
be teaching Grades 7, 8 and
9, Math and Science and
coaching football at the Inter-
national School of Brussels,
Belgium. He is currently em-
ployed for the summer by the
Ausable Bayfield Conserva-
tion Authority in Exeter.

Gumball contest
winners announced
Zurich Public School showed appreciation to
Hensall Legion.
Liz Sangster
HENSALL - Three new members were installed at the June meeting of
the Hensall Legion. The Legion would like to welcome Debbie Taylor,
Brad Falconer and Anthony Baldwin to the Branch.
Comrades John McAllister and Ted Roberts were installed on the Exec-
utive to make the slate of officers complete.
A donation of $ l00 was also made to the Summer Camp for kids from
Children's Aid. A donation of $100 was also made to the Flowers of
Hope.
Friday afternoon, Zurich Public School showed appreciation to Hensall
Legion for the work they have done in the past for Public Speaking. A cer-
tificate of Recognition was accepted by Bea Uyl, Secretary -Treasurer and
Lillian Beer P.R.O., on behalf of the Legion.
The winners of the Hensall Tinker Tots "Gumball Contest" were Chris-
ty Cousins, of London and Louise Wood of Exeter. The winner of the
hobby horse was Barbara Westlake -Powers.
The Afternoon Group of Hensall United Church met June 1 at the home
of Elva Forrest. Forrest opened the meeting with two poems followed by
prayer.
Audrey Christie had the devotional with her theme being "Vacation
From God". Isobel Rogerson was the pianist. 14 women and Forrest's
grandchild Katherine attended the meeting. A hymn "Praise the Lord" was
sung. Christie gave a reading "Everywhere Across the Land You See the
Face of God".

Church service
There was no service at St. Pat-
rick's on Sunday, St. Thomas'
Granton held their final service of
Thanksgiving and Sentence of De -
Consecration by the Rt. Rev. C.
Robert Townshend, Bishop of
Georgian Bay. The service of Holy
Communion will be held at St. Pat -
ricks at 11 a.m. June 25. Scripture
readings to be 1 Kings 19:9-14, Ga-
latians 3:23-29, Psalm 43. The
Holy Gospel Luke 9:18-24.
Personals
Mary Davis, our first lady from
St. Patricks, was honored on her
89th birthday last week. She at-
tended a lunch on Monday at the
Village Restaurant and an after-
noon with friends and cousins at
the home of Mabel Needham.
Tuesday 23 friends and relatives
including two cousins from Viking
Alberta called on her. Wednesday
Davis was lunch guest along with
ACIQ
Over 3/4 of the central air
units we service were
never adjusted properly
when installed. The fan
speeds are too high, so
they don't dehumidify
properly, so the house
temperatures must be set
too low, the system is
noisy, and energy costs are
excessive.
The purpose of central air
conditioning is to create a
climate more like
Radville, Sask, than
Aklavik.
The refrigerator is that tall
cold thing in the kitchen.
